The campsite was paved, level, and spacious, with 30 amp hookup, picnic table, and fire ring. The campsites are well spaced and offer great privacy. Water was located through out the loop, trash receptacles were located at the campground entrance. We purchased ice and firewood at the campground checkin office, the staff was friendly and helpful. The restrooms and showers were outdated and not very clean.

This is an Outdoors person type campground with lots of outdoor things to do. Sessions Lake provides fishing, swimming (beach w/concessions) kayaking, boat ramp, even had a windsurfer out there yesterday with the high winds on Friday. There are many mountain bike trails (minus the mountains) equestrian camp & trails and hiking trails around the lake. Very nice Dickson golf course. I even believe they have x-country trails and dog trials in the colder months.
If your towable rig is over 25’ in length, select your site carefully. The paved roads are directional and many sites are angled in favor of backing into. But some are straight in which makes for backing sizable rigs into a bit more challenging, but can be done. The road is narrow so if you’re following someone in that has a site before you you’re more than likely going to have to wait until they can position and unhook. All are paved with dirt patio and for the most part fairly level. A few have a grade from front to back so bring blocks. Real good spacing between sites with foliage. Bath House was impeccably clean (was the start of Memorial weekend) and smelled nice. Check-in girl very sweet. Plan to wait if coming in on Friday afternoon/eve to fill with water. Oh, and may need to trim some threatening branches. Doesn't look as if Park Dept does much of that.
Cellular data connection is limited with AT&T and virtually non-existent with T-Mobile. Verizon/Visible seems to be best in talking with those that have that service. Lastly, don’t depend upon good TV reception. Like I said, get outdoors and discover !!

Campground is great. Sites are private, there are tons of trails, and a really nice lake. My issue is with site 3, it has a 14 degree slope and is 18 inches lower at the rear of the pad.

This is one of our "go to" campgrounds. The sites are all paved and most are fairly level. Many we can fit our 42 foot fiver into, and many have plenty of width for one or two vehicles. There is also a separate equestrian campground with trails. Mountain bike trail and cross country ski trials.
Ionia SRA sits four miles north of I-96 so you don't hear any highway traffic. Peaceful. Ionia is 6 miles east and has a Walmart, Meijer supermarket, and most anything else you might need.

We have stayed at this campground many times over the years. It has a nice man made lake with miles of hiking trails and bike trails. The sites are private. The restrooms are clean and well kept. It is a quiet place to spend time.
