We stayed in a beautiful water's edge site with our travel trailer. The park was full of families and summer campers. The site was grassy with ill-defined edges. We have stayed at this park in the past and decided to come back again with family for our annually camping trip because we really like it! There are a variety of site types to satisfy all. This time, since we had a large 42 ft 5th wheel, we choose a grassy site back up against the woods in the loop. THere are sites that are on the lake and are very desirable, but many do not have trees for shade. Sites are electric only and there are water spigots throughout the park to take on water. Our last trip we saw the northern lights and shooting stars. It is a peaceful place near Manistique and able to visit Munising and Pictured Rocks with this campground as your base. During the week days we heard road noise from the dump trucks on the road out behind us but peaceful at night.

We spent 5 days here. Chose a view of the water, back in. Spacious site slightly unlevel and the grass was damp from previous days rain. A big fire ring and picnic table. Electric only, with dump station and water spigots around. Plus 9/day for the MH - or get a $32 pass - and $7 for the car. Back in mostly, but some pull thrus, some parked sideways. Rest rooms and $2.00 showers for non-campers. Well maintained, and very clean. Beach, boat ramp, playground, kayak rentals, a book nook, games, magazines and short hiking trails. Very popular park. Great location for Fayette Historical SP, Painted Rocks in Munising, Big Springs Kitch-iti-Kipi etc.

There is a nice walking trail that goes around the campground. I'm not sure where the official start of it is, but we accessed it at the boat ramp.
Kayaks and canoes are available for rent, though we didn't take advantage of that.
