Indian Creek

We stayed here for one night on our way through Idaho. The bathrooms are vault toilets, right at the entrance, a few flies but manageable not relatively clean. Right off the road so mild traffic sounds but nothing too loud or crazy. There are flat grassy spots to setup all over, not really many designated sites (a few do have makeshift fire pits so it’s an obvious spot), just find where you like and park it! Very few bugs, mostly mosquitoes but didn’t get bit at all! Chilly overnight in mid September, but it was a nice change for us who spent half the summer traveling Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma! Quiet even for a Saturday night! We are bookmarking this spot for the future!!

Found a level spot after a short while. Fairly close to the lake. A couple campers around us also but this place is big enough. The grass where we are is fairly high but no big problems with bugs. We were able to kayak in the reservoir and it was wonderful. Bald eagles and osprey flying overhead and diving down to fish. Some of the roads are pretty deep with ruts. So much do a motor home got stuck. Other than that this place is a gem

We stopped here on our way to Pocatello, ID from Grand Teton. Great free site. There are toilets as you drive into the site, but we didn’t use them. The sites aren’t numbered, but there is plenty of relatively flat grassy land to park on that overlooks the reservoir. Some sites have make-shift fire pits. The gravel road in has some pot holes, but you can easily navigate around them. Some mosquitos from being so close to the water. No hook ups or trash bins. It’s right off the highway, but we didn’t hear it from our site.

This campground is in a BEAUTIFUL area, Nestled between mountains and lake it should have been a perfect spot. to those traveling in a camper/RV I would definitely recommend. Unfortunately we were tent camping and that’s why we ran into problems. First, the space is completely Infested with mosquitos (not surprising near the lake, but it was BAD). We had to put a LOT of effort into protecting ourselves, tent, car from mosquitos entering. Just, everywhere. Second, the restrooms were disgusting. I know there’s only so much to do about the smell but when I opened the lid so many flies came out that I walked right out and chose to pee in the bushes. THEN, just as we’re about to cook dinner on our portable grill, someone (who we assume looks after the area) drove around to alert everyone in tents that there were active cougars in the area and that they’d rip straight through our tent! Since it was just before dark and to be safe, we didn’t cook, broke down the tent, and slept in the car 😑 not an ideal situation AT ALL and we were very disappointed. So TIPS: don’t bother tent camping here, but anyone that can safely tuck away into an RV to sleep/eat/pee will enjoy the absolutely perfect views. Also a caution: some of the pathways closer to the lake that lead around to the different site spots were deep muddy trenches. Sites aren’t signified by number but by a fire ring. Now that I look back at the photos, they are slightly misleading because they imply that the field is clear, but on the day we were there the grass was very unmaintained and tall (probably making the mosquito issue that much worse) FINALLY, the campground is just off a mountain highway so the sound of big rigs barreling down the mountain happens all day and night.

I worked remotely all week here. Had to use my weboost drive reach part of the time. Otherwise I used my little booster. Att was on average of 12bps up and download. Sometimes higher or lower. Verizon was harder to use with webcam and kept coming in with around 1 mbps download specifically.

This site is one of the most beautiful I've ever stayed at. Only an hour from the Tetons and around amazing hiking.

The birdwatching here is insanely good.

On the weekends suddenly it became like a redneck off-road music festival out of nowhere. I counted at least 100 people here. Big rigs. Boats. Tents. The whole 9 yards. They destroyed the place literally. The dirt road by the lake is now three times the size it was with deeply rutted mud where an f250 got stuck. That road will never be the same. The grass will never grown there again. These people have no respect for the environment or anyone else. I've been minding my own business but as I drive by no one waves back. Wtf? Rude as hell.

The dirt road has few potholes but not a problem with my travel trailer. If you arrive there at night, it’s hard to find all of the parking spaces. No street lights. I parked in front of the restroom. It was all right until the next morning. Many campers started using the restroom and I felt uncomfortable. So I left there after a quick breakfast. There is a big pothole in front of the entrance. So be careful. There was a little bit of road noise but it’s not a problem.

I stayed here on my way into the southern entrance to Grand Teton and Yellowstone, now coming back here again. Easy big rig stopping place, lotsa flat areas. Ruts and potholes in the usual places. Nice views, just a day user or two, wide open. The reservoir seems low now and that makes a long beach. I plan on a two day stop over. This place is a nice budget balancer location after in park rates.
