The location was out there but not too far from the interstate. Just follow the previous directions posted, you may feel like your going into the wrong area but your not lol. We have a truck (no 4 WD) and 21ft trailer I would not bring a large class A. It’s a long dirt/sand road to get there but the sites are decent and it’s the cleare... more

Indian Bread Rocks is close, but not too close, to I-10. It’s BLM and heavily cattled (cowpies everywhere and sweet cows and calves once in awhile). And it’s beautiful! The road leads to a picnic ground with trash receptacles and parking for those who prefer not to chance the road further in. I went as far as I dared in my camper van... more

Hard packed sand road for a few miles (Apache) before turning onto a smaller single lane sand road. The drive was easy. It was not washboard nor rutted when I drove in. There is a vault toilet, a shaded picnic area with 4 tables and 4 grills up front. I found at least 3 pull through spots to park my truck with travel trailer. It might ... more

I will definitely stay here again. Sites are well spaced out and the area is beautiful. The ranger checked in on me just to make sure I knew about the 14 day stay limit, and to make sure everything was okay, he was a nice guy.

We decided to scout out the area beforehand. So glad we did as we would have never made it with our 5th wheel. There are at least 4 cattle guards with the last one just at the entry to the recreation area. The last cattle guard was sketchy as we had to maneuver our F250 past the posts. We would have not passed with a 30 ft. 5th whe... more

The front part of the campsite where the bathrooms are was full so we drive farther back to the more rugged area. Our Xterra made it with no problem but bigger rigs might have a tough time. Except for the sites just off the main road, you want to scout ahead to be sure you're not getting into a tight spot if you have a little bit bigger rig like ours. But we landed in a beautiful spot near the rocks and could barely see our nearest neighbor. Massive views out across the valley towards Bowie and beautiful sunsets above the... more
