“Beautiful location”

Reviewed May 20, 2018

I arrived at Indian Bread Rocks May 16 and stayed five nights. The area is beautiful and the weather was in the 90's with clear skies day and night. The 3 mile unpaved road in was nicely graded but extremely dusty. The cattle guard at the entrance is 12 feet wide which should accommodate most everyone. The picnic area is very nice with... more

We stayed here one night on our way through Arizona. The road gets narrow, but it's not too rough. We found a spot right along the edge of the rocks as you go around a corner. It's was secluded and level enough to back in my small camper. There are vault toilets at the beginning of the road along with some trash cans and picknick ... more

My wife and I were on a month-long trip with our travel trailer to explore southern Arizona and up to Moab, UT to camp with one of our sons and his wife and stopped here our first night in Arizona. Indian Rocks is around 8-9 miles south of I-10 and Bowie, AZ. We arrived not long before sundown, so we were kind of in a hurry to find a... more

“Amazing place to explore”

Quiet, nice breezes. A lot to explore. I was happy to see a covered shelter that hosted picnic tables and grills. :-) Easy roads to get here. T mobile works here. This is about 20 miles from a grocery store. The closest gas station (<10 miles) is almost $1 per gallon more, than if you drive down the highway to the next town (20 mil... more

A quite and peaceful boondocking location. We camped past the picnic area on a side road with great views. Access to the campsites is a washboard dirt road. There are some sites suitable for big rigs past the picnic area but the further in you go the more difficult it may be to turn around. The side roads offer smaller sites. ... more

Traveling in is like most other worthwhile boondocking spots, takes time...washboard dirt road for quite a few miles, greeted by the occasional cattle but as others have described, once thru a few cattleguards, sign of civilization appears in the form of picnic tables, indian bread rocks sign and a free standing restroom. This place is beautiful. Stopped on our way to Tucson. We made it in okay, driving slowly, with a 36’ Class A- totally glad we gave it a shot! There are only a couple of spots for bigger rigs so we were grateful it wasn’t too busy. Off leash dog hiking was the highlight. We also found some calcite on our hike.
