Independence Rock Rest Area 7-8-2022 the rest stop is open, has ample parking, a dog walking area, picnic tables and a restroom. The dump station is CLOSED. There is a fresh water spigot right near the dump station if you can maneuver close enough and/or have a long hose. This stop is the where you access Independence Rock. If ... more

“Great rest area and dump”

Overall Rating

Good place to stretch your legs and take care of camper business. Plenty of parking and easy to get around the site. There is an area for the dog to run and clean water spigot to rinse them off afterwards! Potable and non-potable water available.

Entrance to Independence Rock historic area where you can hike on and around the rock.
Free dump and fresh water which enables one to take advantage of nearby BLM camping.
