Our reservation sheet was waiting for us clipped to a big wooden sign but there was nowhere to hang the sign at our campsite. A friendly park manager came by in the morning to check our sheet since we weren't able to display it. Would stay here again, the park was clean and quiet. Beautiful view of the Sierra Nevadas.

Practically in the shade of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Nothing blocking the view except for the trees in the campground. There was only one other person in the campground when we came in.Plenty of picnic tables. Water in each site in the RV side. A babbling brook runs right through the middle if it. The town if Independence in just a few blocks away and is a fine old run down sleepy town.
The Bad'ish':
No groceries in town. The gas station has a convenience store but no fresh food. Shop in a larger town on the way.
The campground is well kept but not landscaped or pretty. I happen to prefer that myself but....
The Ugly:
The stated fee is $14 but you also pay a $5 daily entrance fee and $7 to reserveamerica In our case we liked the place and added more time so paid the $7 twice. This is not a $21 a night campground. You can't reserve or pay on the same day, the honor box is not in use any more so if you are looking for a place to stay that night reserve America will not allow it. I would have given four stars but for reserveamerica.

“It's a convenient stop through the Owens Valley. Also a good base camp for exploring the area.”

It's a convenient and easily accessible campsite. Note that there are sites on the other side of the dry creek. Mother's Day weekend there was only one other site occupied. Small trees provide some shade.
