The campground provides potable water, restrooms, dumpsters and bear canisters. Each site is provided with a fire ring and picnic table. The Fraser River trail also traverses the lower section of the campground connecting the ski slopes to the town of Winter Park.
Sites 1 to 13 have better Verizon coverage at 3 bars of 4G, while the more private lower sires have one bar.
While a 30 foot travel trailer can be manuvered through the campground, some of the turns will be tight. There are few RV suitable sites which should be considered during reservations.
Exiting the campground can be problematic during high traffic times. The drive intersects with highway 40 at a shallow angle which makes exiting difficult. Only smaller vehicles would be able to complete the turn into highway 40 towards Berthold Pass. I recommend exiting towards the town of Winter Park and turning around at the Shell Station before Fraser if you wish to head to the pass.

We stayed here one night but took the dogs for a walk to see the whole thing. We got our 30ft TT in just fine and stayed in a site along the highway since we were only staying the night. Some of the campsites along the creek/trail were beautiful. I would absolutely come back for a longer stay in one of those sites. There are a lot of smaller campsites for just one vehicle and only a handful of RV sites. We even saw a moose when we walked on the trail.

Just speaking from my experience last night, this place is horrible. Especially if you stay at any of the 1 through 13 campsites. They all hug the highway. So, if you like sleeping next to a highway, then this place is for you. I'm sure the other sites Down The Gulch are much better. My site was, what seemed to be, right on the freeway. Absolutely no sleep due to all the traffic noise. In addition to that you also have noise from the occasional train every now and then . Thank you Amtrak ! The only safe way to access this Campground is if you're traveling north on the highway. Any attempts from the southbound lane are met with speeding cars exceeding the speed limit stomping on their brakes due to you trying to enter the campground whilst they are in the passing lane! Very dangerous.
Parking is sparse and limited. From what I could tell no water was available. The only saving grace was the fact that I got two bars on Verizon cell network. I was able to book a room at the Ameristar Casino on my way back home. Oh and the pit toilets were absolutely disgusting. No toilet paper in looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months.

This is our favorite campground. Sites are fairly private. It is quiet and peaceful. Hate to leave, can’t wait to come back.
