We had an unplanned stop and it was too late/we were too tired to make other arrangements. To my surprise, it was a great stop. We felt totally safe. The bathrooms were cleaned every few hours, polite, friendly employees were there all nights and it was quiet. Even though a few people parked next to us for a while, they just quietly ... more
We had an unplanned stop and it was too late/we were too tired to make other arrangements. To my surprise, it was a great stop. We felt totally safe. The bathrooms were cleaned every few hours, polite, friendly employees were there all nights and it was quiet. Even though a few people parked next to us for a while, they just quietly came & went. We will stay at a Texas rest area again.

We stayed overnight. The facility & bathrooms were very clean. Has nice picnic areas and a grill shaped like Texas. Also, there is lots of room to walk a dog & a playground.
Please keep in mind it’s a rest area. It’s going to be well lit & noisy.

Excellent rest stop off of Highway. Very clean and well maintained restrooms. Not much noise from Highway. Very safe, several other RV’S stayed overnight. Great place for a good nights sleep!

Stopped on Friday night 10/4/19 at this rest stop on the way to Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. Easy off and on I-40, near Alanreed, TX. Fairly level, large concrete paved area for tractor trailers and RV’s to park for the night. Stopped on Friday night 10/4/19 at this rest stop on the way to Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. Easy off and on I-40, near Alanreed, TX. Fairly level, large concrete paved area for tractor trailers and RV’s to park for the night. After we parked (away from most of the tractor trailers), I woke up in the middle of the night and noticed trucks parked within a foot or two on either side of our travel trailer, with noisy diesel motors running. Too loud and a bit unnerving for us, as we haven’t stayed at a truck stop or rest area with big rigs packed in so closely together before. Well lit, and appeared clean and safe. A bit too loud and trucks parked too close together for our liking.
