Culberson Rest Area Westbound

We’re heading west stopped here overnight still noisy but hay it’s free! Picnic table area plus plenty of space to walk the dog plus big garbage cans very nice wife and i always say Texas has really nice rest stops! Would stay here again 120 miles east of El Paso, TX.

Stopped here on our way to the West Coast and had no problems. We parked on the left hand side and were able to use our slide out to get to the bed. Noisy from the I-10 but wore earplugs and slept well. Very easy as you just park on either side of the road coming in. Quick in and out.

We’ve stayed in a bunch of rest areas. This one is just a single road. Trucks parallel park on both sides of the road and fly down the road between all the parked trucks.

Also, I-10 is VERY CLOSE. The noise from the highway was pound enough to wake us up often.

Would we stay here again? Only if we were desperate.

Easy in, easy out. If you’re staying overnight and don’t like traffic noise, I recommend ear plugs or a noise maker. Otherwise it’s a good place to have a meal and rest or even stay overnight.

After the trouble I have had this last week finding space at a rest stop or truck stop, this was welcome relief even on a Saturday night! Clean restrooms plus nice architecture of building and picnic areas!

Needed a place to sleep after a long drive. Not the quietest place but it worked out.

It’s right off the interstate however it’s so noisy it sounds like you’re still on the interstate.
There are covered picnic spots with bbq grills, a pet area, trash cans. The water and bathrooms are closed due to COVID. There is plenty of room for most any size rig here.

We attempted to boon dock here for the night, wife wasn't having it. It was literally right off of I-10 and super noisy. I don't recommend if you or someone with you is a light sleeper.

We came in after dark and left before sun came up. Seemed to be an older rest area with end to end parking instead of side by side lanes more common in more updated rest areas

A basic Texas rest stop. Had to run the genny since it was hot outside , so the highway noise was drowned out (but not really loud anyway). Covered picnic tables with grills and very clean. Restrooms where very clean as well. Seems to be plenty of room for everyone. Didn’t stop in but the eastbound rest area looked like a carbon copy ... more
