Overall Rating
One of the nicest rest areas we've ever used, and we use a lot of them. Spent the night here in our 5th wheel. Big spacious slots. Of course you get road noise and truck noise, but not bad at all.

As far as rest stops go, they don't get much nicer than this one. It is a big, clean area with a walking trail around it. Nice bathrooms and visitor center. Plenty of parking. I suggest further down the line to get away from the big rigs. Good cell service. Unfortunately there was no spot to dump or fill our tanks otherwise this would ... more

I suggest further down the line to get away from the big rigs. Good cell service. Unfortunately there was no spot to dump or fill our tanks otherwise this would have been the golden rest stop.

One of the nicest rest stops I’ve been to. Many big-rig / RV spots. Both Eastbound (exit 814) and westbound (exit 815). We stopped here for a night on our way from Austin to New Orleans. One of the nicest rest stops I’ve been to. Many big-rig / RV spots. Both Eastbound (exit 814) and westbound (exit 815). We stopped here for a night on our way from Austin to New Orleans.
This rest stop is new as of 2012 and it’s away from the noise and traffic of the interstate. Lots of trees and green surround. The facilities include nice restrooms, vending machines, covered picnic areas, garbage cans, a kid’s playground, interpretive nature walk and free wifi.
