We hit this one in September 2020 - and at this time campsites were not available in person — everyone has to go through Recreation.gov website or using the toll free number. The number is posted everywhere, but the wait is very long (45 minutes) before anyone can help. Best to make a reservation ahead of time.
Otherwise, even though the lake was very low this year (or is it always this time of year) it was a very picturesque spot. Mostly it was very quiet there, except for the geese out on the lake that were extremely vocal. The roads around the lake were lightly used, so very little vehicle noise.
The campground is good for tents or small RV’s (our class B was right at home.) The restroom was nicely kept, and the shower was clean and featured nice warm water.
We enjoyed staying and would go again, sometime when the state is not burning up all around.
PianistAlan would stay here again

“No Camping Spots Open”

This place is now a ghost town. All the RV camping areas were closed off in mid-May when we visited. It looks like the only thing open is the boat launch. Not sure if the RV sites are permanently closed.
Note: They no longer take cash at the park. There was a sign that gave instructions to call or visit recreation.gov to make your payment over the phone (though there is no cell service in the area in order to do that!)
