When we were here it was dry, and they had graded most if not all of the roads. It appears they are planning to work on some of the sites later this month (April 2019) as well, based on posted signage. We stayed about a mile south of hwy 9 in site 40. 36ft 5th wheel. When we were here it was dry, and they had graded most if not all of the roads. It appears they are planning to work on some of the sites later this month (April 2019) as well, based on posted signage. We stayed about a mile south of hwy 9 in site 40. 36ft 5th wheel. Plenty of bigger sites as well as more remote sites up the road. Some are tent only. The actual sheep’s bridge road is well maintained dirt and you can enter from either highway 9 or 59 without worry. There is a dumpster on the north end of sheep bridge road.

For the views and location, can’t be beat. The first mile or so of the road is terrible washboard. The campsite roads (1-15, 20-35, etc) are horribly rutted, some places very deep. For the views and location, can’t be beat. The first mile or so of the road is terrible washboard. The campsite roads (1-15, 20-35, etc) are horribly rutted, some places very deep. I have a 5th wheel - no way would I drag it down most of the roads; however, there were campers there...small rigs such as the mini lite trailers, class C etc. You definitely need to scope this out first. At my spot, I watched vehicle after vehicle turn down my road, attempt to go down a campsite road, and then turn around. If you can grab the first site or two on the campsite roads, you’re good. Unbelievable views and access to trails. Very quiet, respectful campers here! Come early, scope first - enjoy your stay!

So we knew it was going to be muddy around this area due to the more than average rain this spring. We had stayed with family in St George the week prior to heading to sheepsbridge rd, so I got the opportunity to drive to some of the blm spots in the Zion area before bringing our house there. So we knew it was going to be muddy around this area due to the more than average rain this spring. We had stayed with family in St George the week prior to heading to sheepsbridge rd, so I got the opportunity to drive to some of the blm spots in the Zion area before bringing our house there. Good thing I did, because all roads in and out of any spot out there were extremely muddy and I wouldn’t attempt to do with our rig. Talking to a local on a hike at Zion lead me to entering sheepsbridge road from route 59, south of route 9. It is much better entering from 59, so we did because I deemed that there were three spots closer to the road that I would be willing to attempt in the muddy conditions. After getting to our spot we were being dusted out for the first five or so days by people flying down the road. Yet we were surrounded by beautiful snow capped mountains, and we were twenty minute drive from Zion, and so greatful. Upon arriving home one day from hiking we noticed a new sign near our house that said no camping. The blm guy actually stopped by that evening and told me that they were aggressively trying to keep people from camping in “undesignated” spots in order to preserve the area because it was becoming more popular. After chatting him up (and showing him a couple bags of trash we picked up) and explaining there were no designated spots that I was willing to attempt due to their poor condition. He said us leaving in a few days was cool with him so we stayed, and boy it got muddy. Everything was a lot harder due to the peanut butter style mud the clay created. Taking the dogs out turned into a coin flipping match every time. We left a week earlier than we were aiming for, and glad we were able to get out of that mess. Ten minutes south on 59 there is a chevron which has free water, free dump, truck lanes for diesel fill up, decent food, free WiFi, and you can spend the night.

We got lucky and snagged a great spot with a killer view. Of which there are many. Can get really soggy in the rain but ours was up on a hill
So we could weather the storm. Popped into the park for three days in a row and it’s just about 30 minutes away. Great location makes me wish we had Mt. Bikes as there are trails everywhere

This was our first boondocking site. Was fairly easy to find a site but few spots 4x4 is required. Little bit of trash and a lot of glass in few spots . Great mountain biking trails everywhere.

2 stars only for location. Our visit was in mid October 2018. We have been fortunate enough to have been able to camp in many of our public lands throughout this country and sadly this was our worst experience.
To start with the positive the location is very nice for visiting the West Zion area of Utah. There is access off of both route 59 and 9 which is very convenient. The views are fantastic and despite being close to several towns we still had good night sky visibility as well. This area is heavily used for biking, hiking, 4 wheels, and dirt bikes. The roads are dirt/stone and rough in some places. We were in a class C and were fine but I do recommend scouting your site ahead of driving your RV in as there is quite a variety of site suitability here. We seen plenty of Class A's and large 5th wheels here.
The negative....This was the dirtiest public lands we have experienced, there was trash everywhere, human waste (literally piles of stool and tp with rocks sat on top), and excessive amounts of broken glass. We even seen what appeared to be campers draining their waste right out onto the grounds. The amounts of broken glass we found at the campsites along the main dirt road was unreal! So much so that the sites brilliantly sparkled in the early sun. At first we didnt believe it could possibly be that much glass until we literally went up and checked.
This is a very heavy used area with people visiting Zion on top of the what appeared to be the more local recreation traffic.
We spent 3 nights only because of sheer lack of available other options at the time we visited. I do hope to visit Zion again but will not go back here because of how blatantly others are abusing this beautiful area. SAD
Verizon coverage at our site was okay varying from low 4g to 3g, there was a bit of a dead zone coming in off of 9.

This was our first BLM experience, and it was great, got here about 4pm and there were 2 other campers set up, by night fall there was about 12 RV's and about 4 tents set up, everyone was respectful of each other, and noise was kept to a minimum. This was our first BLM experience, and it was great, got here about 4pm and there were 2 other campers set up, by night fall there was about 12 RV's and about 4 tents set up, everyone was respectful of each other, and noise was kept to a minimum. The sunset and the night sky was amazing, we loved this campground.
Also very close to Zion, if you can't park in the park, this is a great alternative.
Where we parked it was level and we had a great view of the mountains, people that came a little later parked in not so level areas.
Would definitely park here again.

We stayed in our camper van here two nights and explored Zion during the days. Sheep Bridge Road was easy to find off of highway 9 and have us some SPECTACULAR views during sunrise and sunset. We stayed in our camper van here two nights and explored Zion during the days. Sheep Bridge Road was easy to find off of highway 9 and have us some SPECTACULAR views during sunrise and sunset. I'll never understand why anyone would spend money to stay near Zion when this place is available! Sites are well spaced so you're not in anyone's business, and the dirt road was easily accessible by our 4-cylinder, low clearance van. Even cell service was better than expected. The one con is the traffic that will drive by in the mornings and evenings, breaking the silence and kicking up dirt. Otherwise, top notch option!

I chose this campsite because there was no need for a 4x4 to get here. I’m a Prius/tent sort of guy so this sounded like the spot for me. I chose this campsite because there was no need for a 4x4 to get here. I’m a Prius/tent sort of guy so this sounded like the spot for me. I was a bit nervous when I arrived an hour before sunset to a strong wind that would have made my rinky-dink tent shake all the night long, but when the sun went down the wind died with it and I was left with a starry night and a peaceful slumber. I even saw a shooting star! I can not recommend this site highly enough. It is in an absolutely stunning location and is pretty darn convenient to Zion. The following morning I did the complete Narrows bottom-up hike and actually came back here and took a nap in my car after. Best campsite I’ve been to yet.
