A lot of folks use this area A LOT I was very fortunate to run into a family that was leaving their site. H2 is THE BEST SITE It has homemade stairs down to the waterside. They have the site numbers spray-painted on the road.
Unfortunately, when I walked up the road, someone had dumped their garbage. So I AGAIN had to pack out a 45 gallon trash bag full of partying remnants which included several dirty diapers. If folks keep doing this, this site WILL GET CLOSED DOWN.
Never saw any BLM staff.
There is a lot of traffic all days of the week. It is obviously used as a partying place. Several camp sites on both sides of me blared music for hours. You can hear every single persons conversations. Even across the pond. So if you decide to have a drag down fight on your boat with your wife, we can all hear you.
There are racists that camp here, exampled by the confederate flag stickers on their back car window. The fishermen litter their tackle, lines and hooks all over the sites, so watch out for your and your loved ones feet.
The water was warm enough to float in. I wouldn’t recommend swimming. There is a ton of jumping fish, and dragon flies to accompany them. There are definitely a lot of spiders. Bugs were the worst at dusk. I used my thermacell and it was fine. Chipmunks and mice, salamanders and bullfrogs. And THE MOST ANNOYING SCREAMING CROW, that incessantly cawed every morning at 630 am and random times throughout the day. It sounds like a person being attacked and can be alarming if you’re not ready for it.
No fires right now (7/2021). There are pit toilets, however I can’t speak on their cleanliness. They were too far from my site so I set up my portable toilet.
Seems to be a thing for OHV and motorcycles to go further up the road and rev their engines. It echoes throughout the entire campground and is very loud.
Safe for solo female travelers as long as you keep to yourself. Many folks have their dogs offleash. Lots of kayakers, paddleboarders, boaters HOWEVER no gas engine run crafts are allowed, only electric. No sunset views.
When you enter veer to go on the road to the left. Thats where the sites are. Im sure there were some that had no water access to the right, but you would need a scout vehicle.
The site was 80% dirt, with 2 pond entry spots. There was only about 4 hours of direct sunlight at this site for solar charging. There is a firepit as well. Never saw any shady characters. Its pretty far out in the middle of nowhere. Because of that I thought I’d have a quiet stay, but I really only got about 2/3 of one day where I was out there alone.

We floated in the entire pond!! Definately going back!!

We stayed at the second big pull through site after the equestrian area with no issues pulling through our 35 foot travel trailer. Really liked our spot, it felt private and backed up to the woods. I wouldn't recommend venturing much further with anything larger, but there are a few sick spots for tents and small rigs right at the water. Absolutely no cell service, even with a booster. Seriously, this will be an issue if you work on the road full-time. There is service a few miles up the road if needed. The closest dump is about 20 minutes away at the Chevron. Gorgeous views if you take a short walk up the road adjacent to the reservior. Great spot for getting away for a few days.

Waking up and seeing the fog floating on top of the water & seeing the reflection of the trees once water activity settled down for the day was magic. Our site had the perfect combo of shade and sun so we could charge our solar power supply & also cool off. Most sites seem to be like this although some are in the middle of trees and are more shaded/secluded.
The pond was also surrounded by blackberry bushes! So many! We filled up bowls and bowls and had berries for breakfast—could’ve had them for lunch & dinner too! Shame that folks kill animals like fish here rather than pick fresh berries from the bush. It looked like there were also mulberry trees as well!
Other downsides were that were some large & noisy groups visited for a few hours or camped & dominated the pond at some times, yelling and playing loud music. Dogs running around without leashes too. There was also a lot of trash in some parts. It’s nice that this pond is loved, but it could be loved better if everyone were to bring their trash out with them when they leave & respect the peace and tranquillity of this place.
We loved this spot and hope to be back.

There is a heckin' cool campsite on the southeast corner of the reservoir (across the bridge and to the left). Spacious, it enjoys a shoreline and several pre-established trails that briefly explore the northern extreme of the camp. There is a fire ring and flat, soft ground for tents. When I visited, someone had shoveled staircases into the steepest sections. You will miss this site if you only explore the main road that runs adjacent to the pond North-South (15-7-35 Rd).
This secluded reservoir that is well-appreciated by campers and participants of lite water sports (i.e., paddle boarding and the such, as motorized vehicles are not allowed on the water). Its best attributes are its seclusion and silence. Its natural features include a new growth forest to the East, an old growth forest to the West, and leaping fish, ducks and lilly pads on the pond. We camped along the western shore in a nicely sized space with a rope swing and immediate access to the water. Though the pond is a relatively undisturbed and natural space, I had to clean trash from previous campers upon arrival (e.g., cans, napkins, feminine hygiene products). Cars continuously passed along the paved road by the pond (15-7-35 Rd) looking for sites or simply passing through, though the frequency of cars diminished appreciably by nighttime. This area is relatively marshy and therefore at low risk of fire, so campers can use the fire rings installed at each site. In total, our stay was beautiful and serene.

This might be a double review as I’m not sure if my last one saved. This was a great place to stay overnight. Pretty pond and forest views, with several nice, open spaces for camping. There is a large horse staging area as you first come in that already had several campers so we kept going. We went up to the pond where there is a large turnout to either camp or turn around. Our 31’ motorhome easily fit into the spot, but we decided to stay overnight in the pull through between the pond and horse staging area. There is a large ditch at the end closest to the horse staging area so it’s probably best to turn around instead of driving through. This area had plenty of space and a nice concrete pad where we set up our grill and chairs. Was a pleasant experience and I would come back.

We are 50’ hooked up so stayed in the equestrian area for solar and room to move. Easy spot to snag. Paved road all the way in and if you go too far to turn around, there’s a larger turnout up the road a ways to flip a turn. A nice middle free stop from Eugene and the coast. Otherwise, not much else here but your thoughts and time.
