This is a large area with lots of FS roads and paths with campsites. I do not recommend driving up the hill, past the gps point listed here. The road gets rough with rock fall and few places to turn around, probably no place to turn around for a big rig. Unfortunately, there was quite a bit of trash from previous campers which was pretty gross. But the bathroom was surprisingly clean. Overall it’s an ok place to stay if you’re going into the east part of the park.

This was a beautiful place to camp, close to a creek with Salmon swimming upstream. Fairly quiet off of a rutted FS road. Probably 5 or 6 vehicles passed by during our stay as well as some mountain bikers. There were no other campers close by so we were able to let out dog off the leash and our granddaughter could run and play in out campsite with no worries of disturbing others. There are signs posted stating target shooting is prohibited, but we did hear gun shots in the distance. I know that there is a legal shooting area up a different FS road, so maybe the noise was from there. It looked like there were hike in sites right on the creek which looked lovely. The previous campers in out site left some garbage, so we did clean that up to enjoy the space. We made a nice campfire in the fire pit and enjoyed that peace and quiet. Four stars because of the shooting noise and the rutted road to get in. But it was a beautiful spot and we will be back. Would be a lovely place to snow shoe if we could make it in with out two wheel drive.
Angela would stay here again
