This is my favorite summer spot. While it is in Washington it can only be reached by coming in from Canada. Turning off the highway before Hope BC it is aprox 55 kms down an at times rough gravel road. There is a BC parks campground ($$) on the Canadian side and the US campground (free) across the uncontrolled border. It is a very popular site and in summer can be quite busy. The water is warm and is great for swimming and boating and has a cement boat launch. There are picnic tables and fire pits at every site but no garbage as it is a bring out what you take in area. There are toilets and two running water outlets. There are tent sites and medium sized RV sites. The Rangers station is about a half mile away and they patrol daily. There is no cell service which I like when I am camping.. Closest place to buy supplies is back out the gravel road to Hope so make sure you have everything you need before going in. The views and fresh air are amazing and the fishing in the lake and river is great. To fish the lake you need a Washington license and to fish the river you need a BC license. If I could stay there the whole summer I would be happy.
