When we got there I was charged the balance for the week. There were plenty of site’s available so I guess that’s why they needed my money. When I questioned why I was being charged and hadn’t gotten a refund she shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes at me. Campsite was tight for a 38’ RV and this is their big rig pull thrus. We will not be reserving in a Sun RV Resort again.

This description is on their website but access to the above is blocked off. Nothing special about this campground. Nothing but greedy corporate owners who want to charge more and offer less. Residents that I spoke to are angry that management increase fees but remove facilities. This park simply wants your money ! Greedy!

Great Community on the Banks of the Braden River
This RV resort was really nice with super nice and helpful staff who accommodated changes without an issue. The community is really wonderful with a mix of folks staying different time frames. The resort was decorated for Christmas and was a cheery place. The island in the river was a nice bit of nature. I wish I had taken time to go fishing. We used the pool and hot tub. It was very clean and quite nice. Its location near Sarasota and Bradenton beaches made day trips easy and fun. Wi-Fi service was good, and we paid the reasonable fee for better service as we were working during the week. Cell coverage with version was 4 bars.

It’s much better than other options in the area. On a previous visit earlier in the month, the wifi near the main office kept dropping out and was useless, however when we returned this time and went to the southern area we had much more reliable wifi connection.

I agree with what other reviews have said. We only chose this because it was close to home and we wanted to shake down our Airstream before we left on a serious trip heading west for the summer.

Even before we arrived for our visit, we received a voicemail letting us know that the office was closed on Sunday and they gave us the gate code and where to find our check-in packet. When we arrived to our site a work camper came to help us. We reserved a standard site (see photo) and we quickly realized that there was no way we would be able to back-in to that site. The work camper and his wife went above and beyond to find us a site that would work for us and they did it with a great attitude and were so friendly and welcoming. Now that is the way to make a first impression with a guest! They moved us to a Super site and it was beautiful!!
I would strongly encourage anyone booking here to choose either a Super site or one of the pull-thru sites. The standard sites are grass/dirt with a concrete patio pad. The sites seem very unlevel and you are pulling up on grass and dirt, not gravel like most sites are. Additionally, with the Super site, you get a very nice shed with a key to put your belongings in. We loved this as we had valuable mountain bikes with us and we had a secure, dry place to store them.
The utilities were good (we had to use an extension cord for the power though) and worked as expected.
This park is truly unique with it's own little island and river access. They are building a new pier and dock which are super nice. We found the landscaping on this property to be superior and it was so pleasant to walk around. Even the majority of older homes were fixed up nice and most had great landscaping which was fun to walk around and enjoy. The residents of this park are extremely friendly and welcoming.
We were here over Christmas and New Years and did not have family with us. Being in this park over the holidays was a great choice and we were so happy we stayed there. The Christmas golf cart parade from the residents was outstanding! I play Pickleball and the other players were very welcoming and fun to play with.
The dog parks were nice and clean, however there were no poop bags available (we always have our own).
The Wifi was unusable at our site.
The folks in the office were very helpful. I had a medication being delivered and they assisted me with making sure I received it which I appreciated.
The pool/hot tub facilities were older, but were clean and acceptable. The pool was quite cold though.
The restrooms were clean, we did not use the showers.
We had a great experience at this park and would look forward to visiting again!

It's mostly full of big rig RVs and manufactured homes for 55+ with a pool, hot tub etc.. the place was immaculate, quiet and the snowbirds super friendly even if you don't have a ton of privacy between sites. Dog friendly.
They do have a little private island you can walk over and around and there are manatees in the cove on the edge which were cool to see.
Make sure they give you the gate code if you plan on getting there by 5pm. Their reservation people didn't give it to us by phone so we kicked out that someone was there to let us in when we got there on a Sunday. Super friendly staff.
