It was the closest site to Yosemite we found which was not full. There is a lake but you can not really swim, a lot of wood in there.
The sites with full hookups are ok.

Again, I felt like I was in an abandoned building when I used their shower - cold water only with plenty of spider friends. And holy cow was it overpriced. I don’t know when that picture of that lake being full was taken but it was a different world then. There’s no water there anymore. Maybe some in spring but it’s bone dry at the end of summer. Hot, dry, broken down, pricy. Stay away.

great price for full hookups. Wasn't the greatest site choice for kids being backed up to a steep downslope behind the site. Overall a good campground. Good value no problems. Park Staff was reasonable and nice.

$30.00 is a bit steep for this place, if the bathrooms and the grounds were kept up a bit nicer, then I could see... We stayed here one night, without reservations, as we were just passing through. All of the sites with utilities were taken, which was just as well as they were spaced quite close together. This pretty place could really use a camp host, as there were small bits of trash all over. There were old, wooden food lockers thrown in a heap in the middle of the campground, and lots of large, downed branches. The walk-in sites on the map are non-existent due to overgrowth and lack of maintenance. We did not use the bathrooms due to COVID. It is really a pretty location, but for $30/night (no senior discount rate) I really expect better.

We stopped here for a couple nights on our way to Yosemite. The campground was quiet and we loved that it was right on Lake McLure. We opted for hookups (water and electric) on the G loop. The G loop provides excellent views of the lake and mountains behind it. Site #13 is definitely the best, with the most room between neighboring sites. In hindsight, we wished we would have booked one of the primitive sites so that we could be right on the water for kayaking and fishing. We drove our kayaks down to the boat launch and spent a fun afternoon fishing on the lake. The bass fishing was really good.

It is the partial hookup site you want at Loop G with the beautiful view over the lake at $28. It has electric and water. There is a separate dump station for the campground. Clean and level sites. New picnic tables and lovely firepits. Toilets with no showers.
So close to Yosemite. Loved it.
