Cons: Cell service is spotty, little to no shade, lake is farther than you think, long line for the bathrooms and showers, sites are not very level.
Probably not always this way, but the crowd that was camping around us seemed to be the younger type, those looking to party and inexperienced campers in general. What I mean by that were people playing their music for the whole campground to hear and people setting up their tents at 9 pm using their high beams in the dark. Good thing the host came around to to quiet everything down around 10 pm.

We were originally at site 16 (which is on a hill and not big enough for my 16’x16’ tent) So we got the okay to move to site 50. At around 9pm the ranger came and gave us a hard time about switching spaces even though we had the okay from the main office. The bathrooms were dirty and the portapottys had mouse poop all over them. I wouldn’t use the shower; I’d rather be dirty the showers were so bad. There is no one there patrolling the area so you just have to pray no one comes in and steals your stuff while you go fishing or go sight seeing up in the sequoias. Also the 1 guy that is like the maintence man, came up to use and asked us to make sure our kids do not kill the trees growing. My kids were just sitting at the table they are very well behaved and listen well. He also smelled of alcohol. I wouldn’t stay here again, I’d rather sleep in my car!

Each spot comes with table and fire ring. Basic toilet and shower facilities, nothing to write home about but they function just fine.

Nice campground...but don't plan on coming here in the late spring/early summer. As the lake level rises the sites slowly disappear until all that are left are a few walk-in sites. We stayed here in mid-April and had to move to higher ground midway through our stay. The camp host told us that by mid-summer the water recedes and the sites reappear. Aside from the watery sites, we liked the location and enjoyed the lake view.

Lots of issues bring a 42 ft fiver here. The entrance off highway is very steep and narrow. Roads in Campground are narrow and not big rig nice. Dump station and headquarters are at top of a VERY steep grade. Lots of dragging and tires off the road.

Also, very pretty landscape, but you can hear highway traffic nearby through the night. Though it's not too bad, it reminds you that you're not fully in nature.
I would say that it wasn't the most peaceful of campgrounds I've visited, but it was definitely very family-forward and good for groups. Don't regret staying at all, but I don't think I'd come back during another long weekend.

This is one of the first places we stayed after we picked up our rig. We came in without a reservation. We stayed in early March and there were a dozen or so available sites at 6pm. Lake Kaweah is very pretty, nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. It looks like the kind of place I'd have loved to visit as a kid on family trips. It looks a bit low now, but it looked plenty big for water sports and fishing. We were just staying overnight so we didn't explore the lake or surrounding area.
Verizon cell coverage was either terrible or non-existent.
