Hopkins Rest Area Eastbound

Very clean updated bathrooms. Cameras throughout, which you can see on screens inside the rest area. Charging stations, covered picnic areas and a newer play structure.
While the state of Texas encourages you to get rest at these rest stops, it's very hard to at this one. It's very very loud, even with the tree barrier, and you can feel the trucks go by, and hear and feel a loud thump from the ground as they go by. If you have to try and get some sleep here, it's good for a couple hours after which you'll likely be kept awake by all the noise and movement. I used a sound machine on high and it was still quite loud.

The rest stop was very clean facilities. It was a great place to pull off because it was just outside the Dallas, so it was a bit quieter with less noise.

If you have children, the playground is new and a great one to burn some energy before hitting the road.
