How does one reach the office? Website says call the office. Office doesn't answer and their mailbox is full.

We were assigned a site behind the laundry room. We had full hookups and everything is labeled with each site number since it’s a bit confusing. Each site is close together and the water had a splitter for our site and the neighboring site. The beach access is convenient. The bike/walking trail is right across the street. Our site was gravel that gets everywhere. Laundry is nice and convenient. Our Starlink worked great.

It is typical of RV parks in AK: small sites close together. The surface was dirt/gravel. The showers are nice and cost $2 to use. I did not have to wait. The bathrooms are o.k.
It is a short walk to the docks, where we took a couple of boat cruises. That was nice as it saved $10 parking. The spit has a number of restaurants, etc, but not a grocery store. Grocery stores are in town and not reasonably walkable. The views were great. Wifi did not exist at our site but cell service was good.
I would stay there again because of location. There do seem to be some other similar campgrounds, but we didn't check them out.
There was a dump site and we had water at our site.

Camping on the spit was all dry camping, but the price was $30 per night. All gravel. And that price does not include use of the dump/water station. Overall, the location is amazing. Traffic is horrible. There are lots of people fishing at the hole, which was fun. Be prepared for listening to lots of generators all night long. Yes, there are quiet hours, but not everyone seems to care about rules. Would I stay again? Absolutely!

The Homer Spit Campground was the most expensive overnight of our 2-week Alaska trip... for electric-only camping. Homer is a gritty, touristy little Alaskan beach town and the campground is more of the same- dust and grit. The sites are tight, neighbors are noisy at all hours, roads are full of potholes (and this was the second to last night of our trip, so we knew a thing or two about AK camping). Other than the fact that it is out on the Spit, there really isn't anything to recommend it. Probably best to stay somewhere else, preferably not here!

Typical Alaskan campground ripoff. Narrow parking lot sites good view if you get a waterfront site. That’s it. It’s a dump.

We decided to stay for the Fourth of July week. We had to make our reservations about six months in advance to get a full hook up site for the time we were there. There are not many full hook up sites (I think 10 or so). The campground has quite a few power only sites and a quite a few rustic sites. The views around the campground are awesome. The Homer Spit is a working area so there are semi trucks with refrigerators trailers moving quite a bit when the fishing boats come in. When the Alaska Marine Highway arrives, there is vehicular traffic going by as well. The sites are close together and you will hear your neighbors. Everyone seems very friendly and the staff is knowledgeable about the area.
