Is this still free? I called the number posted by Cordell Hull and they said they didn't offer any kind of free camping.

Yes it is still free! I called the Cordell Hull COE phone number to verify that Holleman's Bend offers free camping. The Cordell Hull COE website also states that "The primitive areas offer outhouses, campsites and a quiet, isolated experience. The two areas are located at Holleman's Bend Horse Trail and Two Pong on the Bear Waller Gap Hiking Trail. Primitive campers seeking additional information should call (615) 735-1034."

I was there twice in April 2022. It is free. Portopotties may not have toilet paper. Be prepared.
