We love staying here because it is close to the beach. The campground has its own free parking lot at the beach. They have shuttles to the beach. And the campground is located close to shopping Navy exchange and Commissary for all military disabled Veterans. I have read that it can be very noisy. Well, that is true. you are very close to the east coast Navy base that support several squadrons of military aircraft. So, the noise you are hearing is only the sound of Freedom. Enjoy it. We like September because this is usually when the Blue Angles are in town. You need to see one of these flight demos shows to increase your Wow power. Something you will never forget. They have a really nice pool that they put a very interesting tent over in the winter and heat. Really nice. Make sure you look at all the Virginia Beach activities that may be going on. My favorites are the Christmas lighting down the beach during the holiday season and the Sandcastle event in September. When you are looking for something to eat, stay away from the fast-food courts and enjoy the small local food spots. Go where the local go. You save money, have a great time and get the best food and service. Happy Travels.

However we enjoyed our stay lots of activities in the campground for kids, pools were nice and clean. If you like planes like I do you will enjoy seen the f18 flying over all day long.

The location of the park is okay. It's on a major highway close to lots of restaurants and stuff. Do not be fooled about the proximity to the beach because it isn't so. The "bike path" is a sidewalk on a huge major highway and nobody used it to get to the beach in the time we were there.
The parking lot near the beach is in a great location but people take up multiple spots and it's easy to get trapped in there. My advice is to take a few minutes and drive south to Sandbridge beach. More space and better parking.
When you enter the park, it has a "flea market" feel to it. Stuff is just thrown everywhere, garbage strewn about, and it's a crap shoot whether things like bathrooms work or are inoperable. Every site has piles of trash out at the street that they come by and pick up in an old trailer and golf cart so there isn't a time when you aren't surrounded by garbage everywhere you go.
Some of the sites are fairly nice but most of them are just thrown in every free spot they could find on the property. Our site was muddy that entire time after just one day of rain. The safari cafe and the campground store were great and well stocked, but the cafe is only open after 4PM.
They've allowed vendors (read: random old guys with crap in the bed of their truck) to set up in the middle of the street to sell corn, melons, campsite lights, and tie die shirts. This is interesting because they wouldn't allow our Uber driver to enter the park and the gate security people were pretty difficult to deal with.
Internet service was unusable as the connection maxed out at about 1mb and would drop about every 2 or 3 minutes.
My wife and I both agreed that this is what a campground owned by Joe Exotic would look like. From the employees riding around smoking weed to the sketchy infrastructure it was pretty lackluster.

Right next to Oceana Naval Air Station, home of a few F-18 fighter jet squadrons, this campground is very convenient if you can't get into any of the several military RV parks around. This is a Navy town so expect some noise, even at the beach! This campground has over 1400 sites of various types and prices. It also has cabins and tent spaces. We stayed in the modest part with gravel/grass site but the 'beverly hills' sites are concrete pads with manicured lawn between. There are also a few grass sites and of course storage for those needing to drop RV's off. Many bathhouses, 3 pools, lots of playground equipment for kids, mini golf to name a few things. Bikes & golf carts are for rent; paved bike path borders the main route outside the camp. Lots to do all around Virginia Beach, including Aquarium, Japanese Garden & of course the military bases.

We will be retuning for a longer stay later this year.

We have stayed at Holiday Travel Park many times over the past fifteen years. We have enjoyed our stays at the park. We have been noticing the decline in the park in the past couple of years. It appears as if management does not want or care to take care of the park or their customers. In our most recent stay we noticed the following issues. First - the amount of thefts occurring in the park. There is no security in the park so many people are having bikes or coolers stolen in the day time and at night.
Second - the infrastructure is not being repair. The roads have many holes in them that do not get filled it. This results in a lot of mud when it rains and also large potholes for your trailer to go through. While we were there, our site lost electric. We called the office and they send out a maintenance man to look at it. He came out and looked at it and left. After 3 hours, we went back to the office to find out the status and was told that they would not be able to fix it for a few days. They offered to move us. If we had not went up to the office, we would not have found out anything.
Third - For people with long term stays, you have to move at least once a month. Sometimes - only across the road. In one month, we had to move three times!
Fourth - golf carts. A lot of really young children driving the cart with no parent in the golf carts. In addition, many people ride around on their golf carts with music so loud that it shakes your windows as they pass.
Fifth - dogs running around with no leads or leases in the park. Although the park has rules about dogs, people do not follow them and the park does not do anything about it.
Sixth - police activity - While we were there ( 6 months) the police were at the park at least weekly due to some situation in the park - fist fights, rapes, assaults and etc. Over all, the park is a large park where there should be security driving through the park occasionally. No one from the park ever goes through the park. This allows everyone to do anything they like.
This park was a great park and it is sad to see how it has turned.

My family stayed here in the air conditioned cabins, while I stayed in my travel trailer. It's a great family campground with lots of handy amenities like laundry, several nice pools, and playgrounds. They offer several way to get to the beach which is about 2 miles away, including: free parking lot near the beach, free campground operated shuttle, or bike to beach. I had a perfectly pleasant stay in my self contained camper and didn't need the public bathhouses. My family, however, used the public bathhouses which were FILTHY. Hair everywhere, dirty, and not a cleaning person in sight. The cabin floors were dirty and one cabin had roaches. The pools seem to be well maintained and clean. So if you bring your own self contained rig, It is a great stay. If you are looking to camp in a tent or their cabins, beware the showers.

Ours was a PT FHU site with dirt, grass and a bit of gravel. Got big puddles after a rain. There are concrete sites that cost more. Place really filled up on Thursday. The more people the noisier it got and air force jets fly by day and night. Should really add gravel to more of the sites to improve drainage.

If you are coming to Virginia Beach for the beach or other activities, this park is a threat location. Not far from the beach and there is a trolly stop in the campground to take you to the beach so you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for parking. There are not many full service camping options in the area. It is either Holiday Travl Park or the KOA across the street. Both parks have not very spacious sites and unless you are paying for a super site, the sites can be difficult to maneuver for a big rig. The park is not far from Oceana Naval Air Station, so be prepared to hear the sounds of freedom.
We had just enough space to fit our fifth wheel and the truck had to be parked in the site or moved to an overflow lot a distance away. That meant there was about enough room on the site to have a broken down picnic table.
Wifi is spotty and trees prevent many sites from getting satellite. There aren’t fire rings at the sites and no real place to have fire anyway.
Trees were close and made parking an adventure. We also experienced several rainy days with nothing but mud on our site. Drainage isn’t the best.
They do pick up trash throughout the day at your site but squirrels are likely to pull your trash apart and distribute before the pick up occurs. We finally moved to a super site for the last few days of our stay and were much happier. Super sites are long paved pull throughs with manicured lawn. Trees are trimmed in that section and the pool is nearby.

I would like to start off by saying we are not overly particular with unrealistic expectations of a Campground/Resort. This Park is in the Heart of Virginia Beach and has a great parking lot on the ocean front for its visitors, which will save you $$$. If you are looking for a relaxing park this is not it. Lots going on and people love their golf carts and music. It has a reputation of being a big party on the weekends and from what we saw that is true. Even though people liked to party we did not find it too loud, rowdy, or disruptive. In fact we enjoyed walking around at night, enjoying all the lights, sights, and sounds. We stayed through Labor Day and while it was packed, everyone seemed to get along and had a great time. During the week the park was quite and rarely did you hear a noise after 9pm. Three of the four pools were open and really nice. The mini golf course was well kept and for $3.00 a person well worth it. The showers were for the most part clean and in good repair, except for on the really busy weekends. The laundry is big and reasonably priced and we never had to wait for a machine. The camp store was also really well stocked and had everything you could need including alcohol. While the Cafe was closed, it did open on Friday and Saturday to serve ice cream. Staff was helpful and friendly helping us move to a bigger site when the one we were assigned proved to be too small. If you use Verizon we had only had two bars which was not enough for me to work on. Our AT&T was stronger at 4 bars and was our go to. One item that surprised us was that they did not have fire pits on site. You had to rent them. If you didn't want to rent one it was fine to burn a fire on the ground anywhere you wanted on your site.
