“Great place to go on the weekend if you live in Fort Worth”

We stayed here in March and April of 2018. The park is a little run down but has some nice scenery and most of the camp sites are lake view. There are quite a few pull through spots, some are large enough for big rigs, you just need to scout it out. We didn't check out the public bathrooms, we always use our own. This park is popular with local cyclists and there were about a dozen there every time we visited the park.

The park gate does close and lock at 10pm but this is good, it keeps out people that shouldn't be there, keeps the noise down and almost eliminates traffic, but some lazy people do seem to think they need to drive 100 feet to the bathroom at midnight instead of walking in a well lit parking lot.

“Get In or Get Out”

Overall Rating

Holiday Park is beautiful campground, but it has some rules.

We were here in February 2016.

Main rule: no leaving the park without your pass, even if you're just running (or walking) in and out on foot. The park charges for bicycles or pedestrians to pass through along the road.
Rule 2: The gates lock at 10pm. If you're not in the park by 10pm you are locked out - there is no gate code. You can park at the gate and get your car in the morning, but if you're not camped out within the first camping area, get ready for a hike along hilly roads.

We probably wouldn't stay here again. The facilities (showers, bathrooms) are a bit run down, which is fine, except you are getting charged a penny to be here. The rules are a pain in the rear end - we found ourselves 'racing' to get back to the campground by 10pm more than once, as we didn't want to drag my 4 year old nephew on a mile+ hike at 10pm.

The camp ground is electric and water only, but has a dump station.

Many of the sites are a bit janky for a big rig - not very level. Smaller rigs have more options. Several camp sites were closed when we were there due to a recent flood. However, there are plenty of sites at elevated ground that were unscathed.

Very quiet campground.

There are some hiking trails that run through the campground which are nice.

Good cell service (Verizon) without a booster.
