The sites are well spaced and private. Great cell service. Data was limited. Our 33 foot camper was a tight squeeze, but there were maybe 2 bigger spots that would accommodate something bigger. Watching the sun rise over the lake is beautiful. PASSHOLDERS of the America the Beautiful card.. it gets you half off when you camp here! First come, first served as far as spots go.

This place is such a hidden gem! There’s around 10-12 spots overall, all varying in size. No water or electricity but has a very clean pit toilet (was checked twice daily by the host). Half of the spots have picnic tables and there’s plenty of trash cans throughout. The host here is SO KIND and gave me so much advice on where to shower and get free water! Lake city is an easy 25 minute drive away and Jacksonville is 45 minutes away. Half of the spots are lake views and get some sun during the day. The other spots are pretty shaded so not the best for solar if you rely on it like myself. Fee is $10/night and I had full ATT LTE service, never happens! Boat ramp is located here so daily traffic is high but very quiet at night time and felt safe. Doggy loved all of the forest surrounding us on our hikes! Definitely would stay again. The spots get very muddy when there’s a day of rain so be prepared for the mud or potentially getting stuck. Road getting it was super smooth, last .5mi had some potholes so go slow as entering campground.

We loved Hog Pen, our site was on the water, great sunrise/sunsets, and it was an easy pull through site in our 20 ft travel trailer. Just a little swampy, and the moss covered trees provided such great shade, so it wasn't optimal for our solar panels - we had to leave one day to find an open field so we could recharge. we had great verizon service, but we were livestreaming and the speed was spotty and inconsistent. host was amazing and friendly and so helpful with local info and other great sites to visit. we will definitely come back here.

One of the best places we've stayed at!! The Camp host was very friendly and helpful. Campground was clean and well maintained. Host explained things to us and helped us locate some firewood. Informed us of what we needed to know and checked up on how we were doing. Only 11 sites but we figured 8 of them would fit our 35' 5th wheel as the road is wide enough for us to maneuver. Road going in is rough but go slow and you'll be fine. Campsites are dirt and will get soft with rain. Campground was quiet and did not fill up even on the weekend. Cell coverage was awesome 4G LTE. We watched TV over the computer and Amazon Videos the entire time we were there. Only downside was no fire rings and a few sites did not have picnic tables. Pit toilet was open and clean for an outhouse. Our price was with Sr. Pass.

We were the only campers the first night besides camp host. It is very clean , right by the water. One out toilet is open and is very clean. Prices have increased slightly.

We arrived at Hog Pen Landing hoping to find a spot to stay and found several run down motor homes, someone sleeping in an older model vehicle with a tarp covering most of it, and a literal CRIME SCENE (complete with police tape!) with someone's personal effects scattered all around. We felt pretty uneasy about the whole situation and left. After checking news reports for the area, it further confirmed our concerns and we ended up staying at a Boondockers Welcome site about an hour away. The area is really beautiful so it was disappointing to find that it appears to have some serious issues. :/

We stayed here for one night and would have stayed for two, but we were tenting and a storm was forecast. It was very easy to get to in our sedan- only a few miles of well-maintained dirt roads. The site was right on the water. There was a picnic table, fire pit, and very clean vault toilets. We stayed in early December and there were quite a few people there on a Friday night but we were easily able to find a spot when we arrived at 6pm. Fee is $2 per night, free with interagency access pass, senior pass, etc.
