Overview of Hipalau Backcountry Campsite
Hipalau Campsite is located along the Kukui Trail next to the Koaie Stream within the Puu Ka Pele Forest Reserve. The Hipalau Campsite is equipped with a trail shelter and composting toilet. DANGER: Do not try to access the Hipalau Campsite during stormy weather, the Waimea River and Koaie Stream are prone to flash flooding during heavy rain. The Hipalau Backcountry Campsite is located within a designated public hunting area, wear bright colored clothing and stay on marked trails.
