We stayed in the Burr Oak campground coming in the south entrance as the newer north campground was booked for 4th of July weekend.
We’re glad it was as there was only 3-4 other campers on the south side. Extremely peaceful. This is a well run park with miles of groomed trails and friendly staff. We saw deer, turkeys, blue jays and of course the elk they keep on site.

Overall Rating
Great campground with roomy sites with fire pit, picnic table, 30 amp electricity, shared water, clean bathroom/shower house, nice trails for leisurely hikes, children’s playground, two cabins for rent, pond for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and paddling. Nestled in farm country, on a hill, this is a very quiet and peaceful park. We would definitely stay here again. Be careful driving in as the dirt roads are hilly and big rigs may find it a bit challenging. First come first serve sites, no reservation required.
