Stopped on our way from MN to TN. It's getting cold now so we were hoping for at least electric to keep warm. It's far enough off the interstate to be quiet, but not so far that it's out of the way. Will fit both small and big rigs (if pull through available) and there's 20/30/50 amps. No water or sewer, but has vault toilets of ne... more

Will fit both small and big rigs (if pull through available) and there's 20/30/50 amps. No water or sewer, but has vault toilets of needed. There are tent sites also for $10.

My sons enjoyed having a spot right on the river. We walked about 20 feet from our campsite to the river. The bank was muddy or rocky most of the way, but we had fun on the sandbar and splashing in the water a little. Some of the rocks have fossils in them, especially corral (Corralville is just upstream). The boys also enjoyed playing and building a "fort" in the woods near the river. There is a lot of sand in the water and it floods fairly easily so there is little ground cover. This makes it ideal to run and play without worrying about critters in the grass.
There were vault toilets and a dumpster. No water or dump area. We saw lots of fishermen going to or from the river. Gravel sights, pretty level. Several pull through sites in the middle. Playground for the kids. Self pay at the box, a gentleman came through later and checked each site.
I stayed here with my two sons on a night I didn't have to teach (online) so I could check the data that one other person reported as 4 bars on Verizon. Glad I didn't have to teach because I could barely get facebook to load so I would not have been able to teach. The Verizon bars went between 1 and 2 when we were there.

First time out in my pop-up camper. 5-6 electric sites directly on the river. $10 a night for non-electric.

Locals in Riverside, IA (James T Kirks future birthplace in 2228) actually told us about this spot. Then I saw it on Campendium. Don't hear the freeway but it was surprising to hear more semi truck traffic on 520th St SE. Might just be grain halling time of the year? Good pix of the park from Google map. $15 electric $10 without
