Good place to crash if you’re coming late/after dark.

Stayed one night passing through. Very scenic park tucked between 1-84 and Grand Ronde River. Freeway noise is pretty loud. Was able to easily maneuver 30 foot travel trailer into a site in the back. For ten bucks this is a great stopover site.

In The Morning It Was A Beautiful Spot Right Near A Small River/ Creek. Traffic From The Highway Is Overhead, But It Isn’t Too Loud To Keep You Up. The Campground Hosts Are Older And As Someone Who Has Been To Many Grounds Similar- They Weren’t The Best. Asked Us Three Times If We Paid For Our Spot, While We Were On Our Way To And From The Bathroom, Granting The Hosts Camper Was Parked A Spot Away From Us. I Felt They Could’ve Checked My Site Pole Instead Of Asking So Many Times, Host Was Awkward And Provided Bad Small Talk, Definitely Not The Job For Them.

If you have a large rig and are not skilled at backing up I would not recommend this location just due to size/space but that’s the only reason. Also has trash which was an added plus!

We stopped here with our 38’ fifth wheel for one overnight. It is a peaceful, well maintained dry camping campground with running water bathrooms (no showers) right on the river. The camp host was friendly and the only other camper there. Two families of geese wandered around our site and paddled in the river. The sites were a bit short since we didn’t want to unhook but we squeezed in by cocking the truck on an angle. I think any rig under 43-45’ could fit no problem. All sites were back in. There was some road noise but it wasn’t bothersome. We would stay again and even stay longer if we could.

Campers kept to themselves, but not much privacy between sites. Had a neighborhood feel and did feel safe. Highway noise didn’t bother us. Didn’t notice long-time campers, though someone had left an old bed frame and seats from a car. This was removed by state park staff the next morning we were there.
Every site has a picnic table and fire ring.

Crashed for the night on the way home. Got in late and left early. Site is a nice place by the river, but close to freeway. Also, we had a few rundown campers as neighbors, but for the purpose of some sleep and a sunny morning by a stream, it is a good site.

We arrived around 4:30p on a Monday and there were only about 5-6 other campers (18 sites total). Found one of the longer sites at the far end, which was nice because we really didn’t have neighbors. Site16 was just long enough for us to back into and not have to unhook (our trailer is 30’ end to end and the pickup is a crew cab long box). Spot was next to the water and the place was quiet. We ran out generate for a bit to get the AC going but then it cooled down overnight so we didn’t miss it when quiet hours kicked in. There is some road noise but overnight it was fairly quiet. Also had decent cell service with AT&T.

Pulled in around 2:30 on a Friday. A lot of open sites of various sizes. We were the largest TT at 32’ overall. A large Class A, a large Class C and two 5Ts took most of the larger spots but there was still plenty of room for smaller trailers, vans and tents! They filled quickly. Most sites are asphalt that has settled but only needed slight leveling. Shared water faucets throughout, there is about 1 per every 3 sites. Didn’t use the toilets, can’t comment on their condition. Quiet campground, moderate road noise from I-84. Quieter at night. Trees provide shade, in site 15, we had morning sun and evening shade! Nice breeze from the river kept us cool. River was directly behind us, good views! Oregon Trail Interpretative Center was interesting and informative. Verizon coverage was sketchy, bouncing from LTE to 3G depending where I stood! No booster, so that may help? Would stay again.

We chose to back in which gave nice views of the river from our living room windows. The highway is above and is fairly noisy during the day but calmed at night. Toilets, water connections are located every couple of sites, dog bags, picnic tables, horseshoe pits (across the road in the Day Use area) are all available. If entering off of I-84, turn into the left side of the State Park. That is where the paved sites are located.
