No Verizon service at all. Great vistas with a light breeze. Temps cooled off over night making it great sleeping. There are large trash cans, some grills and three picnic table shelters to use. One car stopped by at 6pm, had dinner and left. No security around. Some highway noise with the trucks and a few Jake brakes but totally doable. Will stop there again. Best free spot we have found!

This was a perfect spot for a stop on our way from San Antonio to Marfa. We were the only ones there so there was plenty of space for our 31ft RV. My husband, pup, and I stayed overnight on December 28th in our Mercedes-Sprinter based Class B RV/campervan. We had scoped out this rest area when passing through the area one year prior, so we knew exactly what to expect. We had really planned to stay again at Governor's Landing at Amistad National Recreation Area, but despite most of the sites being available, we couldn't find a level spot, and it was still early in the afternoon, so we decided to head here. We assumed we'd have the area all to ourselves and it was empty when we pulled in, but then there were immediately 3 other vehicles stopping to take in the view. After that, there was only one other campervan that pulled in shortly before sunset and then one vehicle after sunrise the next morning. The other campervan did not stay overnight, but we did temporarily feel a little uneasy as the guy was asking us questions about whether or not we were going to stay and things like that - I'm sure he was a perfectly nice guy and just being friendly, but when you're in a remote area with no one else around, it just felt a bit off. He left shortly after with the warning that law enforcement would likely be by to check on us, but we did not see anyone from the park service, border control, or any other agencies during our stay. We enjoyed a beyond gorgeous sunset, a very peaceful night of sleep, and a pretty sunrise. This was great for a free place to stay since it had the added bonus of trash cans. We have a full kitchen inside our rig, so we cooked indoors, but since there were picnic tables and grills, one could certainly cook and eat outside if they wished. We were glad we decided to stay here and would certainly consider staying again if ever in the area.

The view of the bridge and canyon from this location cannot be overstated, being able to camp for free at beautiful locations like this make me so lucky to be able to enjoy America.
Across the bridge is a road that access's the river and the park ranger at Seminole Canyon State Park said she did believe this was public boat access though I did not have the chance to confirm.

Beautiful spot to just grab lunch or stay overnight to watch sunset. Highly recommended and plenty of space for RV parking.

Spent one night here. Very easy access off of Hwy 90. About 6 other vehicles also here boondocking. Great stars. Paved parking area. Plenty of trash cans. The only noise was the small use of generators. Would absolutely use this spot again.

43' motorhome plus toad. One other car also spent the night. Very scenic, overlooking the pecos river. A little creepy being so isolated, no lighting or facilities.

We pulled in after dark. Two other rigs were there. Lots of space and far off the highway. The view of the river and canyon was beautiful.

We stopped here on our way west. This is a quiet and secluded location overlooks that the Pecos River. Access is very easy on an asphalt road that will support all size RVs. People do stop and sight see, but by dark it was quiet. The only potential problem that may arise is if several large RVs decided to stop, it could get crowded.... more
