“Nice private spot for small rigs”

Reviewed Jul 17, 2017

Overall Rating

We went here based on the first review. There was man set up along the road with his rig and said if we wanted to go down the road, we would have to back in because the spot is too small to turn around. Thankfully we listened to him. We parked our trailer/van and walked to check out the site. The man also said there was an empty tent and cooler in the spot but he had not seen anyone for 5 days. We didn't want to intrude even though we think someone put it there for the upcoming weekend and was "holding" it. It was a private spot tucked in away from the main road. BEWARE: getting to this spot you have to be on a road that literally felt like sleep strips for about 20 mins or longer. My husband was not happy, haha.

So, even though we didn't actually stay the night here, we would have for a night. There is lake access pretty close too!

“SUP, OHV trails, fishing, hiking...This area has it all!”

Reviewed Jul 31, 2016

Overall Rating

Dispersed Camping at it's finest. Eastside Rd. has quite a bit of traffic but once you turn left onto Highline Loop Rd the noise and dust disappear. The road only goes 100 yards back so it's perfect for 2 campers traveling together or one large rig. An additional site is between Highline and the bridge. Both sites are on Emery Creek and a short 3 minute walk to Hungry Horse Reservoir. If you're looking for a peaceful and FREE campsite close to Glacier National Park, Whitefish, and Kalispell (45 minutes drive) look no further.
