This campground is the best we have ever stayed in. Lots to do inside the park with a peaceful lake that had deer to watch and wild turkeys. Spots were perfectly level. Owner was friendly.

This is one of the friendliest, nicest, most pleasant little campgrounds I've ever stayed in. The lake (pond) was nice for a swim and a paddle, and it was also a pleasant morning walk around it. Our pull though site #9 was great for our truck and 37' 5th well, with grass on both sides and full hookups. We explored the black hills, wind Cave, and Angostura Reservoir from here. Fun outdoor games for free use, laundry ($1.50 in quarters for each machine), shower house, store with fun stuff.

We were told through an email from the campground (CG) that there was road construction in town with length restrictions. Between the CG instructions and looking at Google Maps, we found an easy route around the construction and arrived with no issues. Check-in was quick and easy. There’s a $3.50 CG fee along with tax. This is a small CG so finding pull-through site 5 with FHUs was not an issue. There was however a tree on our door side that was a potential problem for our slide-out, but the camp host came by and made a suggestion to place our 39’ 5th wheel at the back of the site so slides etc. did not get involved with the tree. The site was plenty long enough for our RV and F450. The water and electric are towards the back and there are two sewer connections, one in the middle and the other at the back that’s handy. Currently, there is no WiFi or cable television. There are essentially no OTA channels but we had a clear shot of the southern sky for satellite. We got 2 bars each on Verizon and T-Mobile. The sites here are very close together. The back-ins do provide a little more site spacing but in the big scheme of things not enough to make a difference. There is no formal dog park but plenty of areas to walk your dog to include an off-leash area on the other side of the small lake. You can also fish (catch & release) in the lake if you purchase a CG license. There’s a flock of wild turkeys that wander around the campground plus mule deer here and there.

There isn't a ton to do in the town specifically but if you're willing to drive a bit then there are some really cool areas to go sight see. Verizon signal was decent.

Very quiet and clean spot up in the Black Hills of SD. The lake is perfect for swimming in the playground is nice. The town of Hot Springs itself is not much to brag about, but it’s close to Wind Cave National Park and only about two hours from the Badlands.

Regardless would definitely return.

We stayed here for four nights during our trip through SD. Great location with the playground and lake access for the kids. Easy access, pull through sites were awesome, hookups were well located for this site. A few of the other sites might have a hard time accessing the water hookups because of the split access water hookups (bring 50ft of hose) The campground folks even delivered the mail for us right to our site (we are full-timers)! Super friendly and easy to find staff. All around a very positive experience.
The only major downside is the place has a TON of flies during the peak season. We'd not had this issue as badly at other campgrounds, not sure what made the difference here. We had the hardest time keeping them out.

Great little place to stay overnight in Hot Springs. Steep gravel driveway with a left turn at the top, but they put a mirror there so you can see if someone is coming down the hill and hopefully that person would be polite enough to let you get to the top first. No wifi as advertised. They say no cable on the booking site, but there are coax drops by the power box. Staff is super friendly. Got the Good Sam 10% discount which basically offset the $3.50 fee for booking the site online. AT&T and Verizon coverage was very good. Everything in Hot Springs is still closed since it's not travel season yet and technically winter. Have no idea how the permanent residents survive half the year without someone to cook them pizza and serve them beer, but they do.
