“Nice Park”

Reviewed Apr 28, 2017

Overall Rating

This campground is north of the DFW area off I-35E, which is always under major construction. We came in from FM2499, which was great, not having to deal with the construction nightmare on I-35 in a 40 ft MH with towed vehicle. Hence, the 4 rating for access. At some points, it was in the flight path for DFW airport, but not that noticeable and quiet at night. Great access to DFW and any shopping you might need to do.
We stayed here for 6 days. Water and 30 amp electric at our site. We had to take a 30 amp site due to time frame we were there, but they have 50 amp sites. No sewer as this is a COE park. Our site was back in and Lake Lewisville was a few yards behind our MH. It was pretty level. Many are not level. Great cool breeze off the lake the whole time. Had a few trees, one being too close to put our awning out, but it was pretty windy most days anyway and we had plenty of shade. Picnic table, lantern hook, grill and fire pit. Bathhouses are clean and showers are OK, though water pressure is not the greatest. But, we took showers there everyday. Lots of trails for hiking.
We would stay at Hickory Creek Campground again. Keep in mind that the address for the park is 1201Point Vista Rd, Hickory Creek, TX 75065.

Note: campers across from us did not put their fire out in their fire pit before leaving. It was still burning & smoking 6 hours later, so we took a water hose over and put it out. In Texas, it can get very dry, so leaving any fire or embers can be dangerous!

“Very nice COE park”

Reviewed Sep 08, 2016

Overall Rating

This park is a pleasant surprise. Our site is at the lake front with a comfortable breeze off the lake. Most sites are shaded but not this one.

The only issue is access. Due to I-35 construction and lack of signage the park can be challenging.
