“Great views and great spot to stay!”

We pulled over just passed the Harris Ranch and we found a perfect spot. Overlooking the river and ski lift 8. Heard marmots "whistling pigs" and it was just a real nice spot. Early morning there was a lot of traffic but didn't bother us much. Great spot for mountain biking trails and close to Purgatory Resort. Road was washboard but we had no trouble with the rain. A must!

“Beautiful and quiet with wide views”

I stayed in July 2019 for three nights 2 miles before the above location (at 37.636263, -107.852346) in a Class C RV.

Hermosa Park Road is a dirt road with some washboarding that leads to the USFS Sig Creek Campground. It's a good idea to drive slow on this road. Both before and after Sig Creek are many spots where boondocking is possible. I stayed at some kind of vista close to the historical Harris Ranch from 1910, overlooking a long and wide green valley with a meandering creek (in which it is apparently possible to fish small, local trout).

After driving for some miles through the forest the scenery suddenly opened up to a wide view into this valley - very beautiful and soothing for the eyes. During the day there was occasionally some ATV and car traffic on the dirt road which did not disturb me at all (and I'm usually very noise sensitive). The beauty of the place was much stronger than the occasional traffic.

I had some Internet connection early in the mornings, but hardly anything during the day.

This is a great place for boondocking for any size of RV.
