Some nice casual hikes , Homestead Meadows, Limberpine, and a more challenging Krueger Rock trail, 975 ft in 2mile up to the peak made these more mature flat landers puff a bit, but the views were awesome!
Super clean sites and vault toilets, nice spacing out of site and quiet with a few jets flying overhead! We will return

We arrived in town without a reservation, planning to dispersed camp. We quickly figured out that the landscape around Estes Park is not made for easy dispersed camping in a travel trailer. A Monday arrival meant there were plenty of sites, however 4 days was all we could stay, as Labour Day weekend was coming and the park was booked out.
The drive to Beaver Meadows Rocky National Park entrance is only about 20 minutes. There are other RV parks that are much closer, but all the ones we looked at were $65+. Hermit’s Rest has water at park entrance off highway, next to the dump station, so you have to come prepared. Also, the dump station hours are only 9am-11am, which seemed a bit odd, but given it’s right at entrance, they are trying to prevent anyone from driving in to use it. We lucked out and the park ranger saw us parked there at 8.30am and opened it for us, we missed the sign with the hours.
We stayed in the Hermit’s Hollow loop, which is generator free. Our site was large, had lovely views, but.......was the most challenging leveling job we’ve done in 5 years of camping in our trailer. There are other sites that are more level, but in general most sites were quite un-level. We had minimal cell service, but this is dependent on where in campground you are. Some sites likely to have better service than we got. There are vault toilets that we didn’t use.
My other complaint is similar to another user. The campsite fee is $30/night, but you are then charged $9/night for park use. It would feel less sneaky, if they just advertised the prices at $39/night, which is what I entered for this review. This does make it feel a bit steep in price compared to other full service campgrounds, but we enjoyed the privacy and quiet that this park offered and over a four day stay, it saved us at least $100, so we were happy about that.

If you want to avoid the trailer parks of downtown Estes Park go here. 15 mins out of Estes. Huge sites in the hills. Really no mtn views but great natural surroundings. Pricey but I would go here again for a stopover rather than the higher priced trailer parks in town.

Highly recommend hiking nearby Kruger Rock, a moderate trail leading to a great view of Estes Park and surrounding areas.

We only stayed here for a few hours. Go in late and left early. It was Father’s Day on the weekend close to Rocky Mountain NP so it was nice there were still spots open. But kind of pricey for dry camping.

This is a nice campground near Estes Park that reminds me of some national park campgrounds I have stayed in. There are several campground areas within Hermit Park and, according to the friendly and helpful staff at the visitor’s center, they almost always have sites available.
My only beef is the cost. It’s nice but basic and for that you pay a $30 per night fee plus a $9 entrance fee and a $3 convenience fee - $42 total for the single night I stayed.
Regarding cell service, I got a bar of Verizon at my site. With my Mimo cell booster it was enough to allow me to view social media sites and even stream YouTube videos in the evening. But if you needed decent service to work during the day, I don’t think you’d have much luck.

We had a great time camping here and would highly recommend. We were in Bobcat campground and site B03. Campsites are very nicely spread out and have large fire pit rings. This was our first time testing out our solar system with no hook-ups and everything worked fantastic! Highlight of the weekend were three deer that walked right up to use (within 10') sitting around the campfire. It is also a bonus being only 2.5miles from Estes Park and Rocky Mountain park although it is a little bit of a drive getting in and out of the campground. Ranger staff were also very friendly and helpful. They sell firewood as you come in which was also very convenient.
Just a couple of items to be aware of. We have a 33'10" fifth wheel and there are not many sites that can accommodate trailers over 30'. We made a reservation ahead of time and our site was great. The only issue to be aware of is we had to drive to the end of the road where there is a turnaround and it was fairly tight getting our rig turned around due to trees in the center. The sites at the end were empty at the time which made it easier as I had to make a wide turn slightly off the road. This might of been more of an issue if there were campers and cars. We scoped the sites while there and next time we will try to get B29 (best one for larger trailers) or B30. Another item to be aware of is there is a dump station as you are leaving but due to the size of the tanks they only allow you to dump black tanks (no grey tanks). This seemed a little strange but wasn't a big deal as we only live 30 miles away.
It is a beautiful campground with some hiking and mountain bike trails nearby and would highly recommend. We look forward to coming back again!

There were 2 full over full bunk beds, a small countertop area, a propane heater, table and chairs, and a propane light. Outside some have small porches and some don't (check the pictures when reserving) and all have a picnic table with a firepit. Almost all are quite private, and most back up to open space. Lots of trails and exploration right there in the park. Peak season prices are higher, but we will be back for sure. Can't beat the solitude only 10 minutes drive from Estes. at the cabin there was no service, but at the top of the hill coming into the park you can get voice.

There are lots of little cabins as well as a campground, all down a very long dirt path. The lots are a bit close together but there are enough hills, rock, and trees that it isn’t bad. Plus, when we were there, there was only one other person.
We are traveling in a minivan so we didn’t have any trouble making it, but it might prove to be a challenge for a big rig.
The bathrooms were pit toilets and clean.
We only stayed one night and didn’t really explore the campground, but we heard there are lots of neat trails and areas to explore if you have the time.

Stayed here for several night which i had pre brooked to allow our houses to rest while we enjoyed a few days to enjoy Estes Park and Rocky Moutain National park. We were constantly hounded by rangers on an almost daily basis about where we had been and even told if we left the park we would have to take our horses with us to town. Ive been all over the country camping and never been told what i could do with my animals as a paying guest. My animals were given the best of care during our time there but we still were constantly harrased by rangers. I will never be back to this camp ground and dont suggest it to anyone who values their privacy. I personally watched them go thru peoples personal belongings in camp while the campers are gone
