We do appreciate that it was free and it had water and electric. The downside was that the through traffic and the loud music and car’s were constant till midnight, then it was decent enough to get some sleep.

Was a little tight on each site, but is great to have full services. Need to make a drop box for donations. Lots of people use the park and lots of kids with cars pulling in and out most of the night. Love seeing the geese on the ponds.

This isn’t fancy, but there is water and electricity and no one bothering you. Better than parking in a Walmart parking lot or a rest stop. Pretty quiet. Feels safe. I appreciate this town’s hospitality. Sending a donation through the mail.

Just spent a terrific couple of days at the campsite in Hereford, Texas. This city park is absolutely beautiful and so well maintained!! The locals seem to really enjoy it too as there were a LOT of people there during my stay. The two lakes that are joined by a bridge, are full of ducks and signs say kids fishing is allowed when accompanied by an adult. There is a playground, swimming pool, and waterslide for activities, as well as covered picnic tables with grills throughout. The FREE site provides water (although my complaint is the strong sulfur type smell), electric and sewer at each RV station for 72 hours with an address provided for donations by mail. There is also a dump station available. It’s well worth staying here and enjoying this park but come early as spaces are limited!

We stopped here for one night while traveling home from an extended vacation. It is convenient but don’t expect a beautiful campground. It is a paved lot tucked in between the aquatic center, a city park and a neighborhood.
We are here on a Tuesday night and arrived around 5:30 pm. The location was empty. Access is good with paved roads. The dip mentioned in other reviews really isn’t an issue, it is not as bad as crossing a speed bump. The signage directing you to the park is minimal. If you find the aquatic center look behind for the RV Park.
Our only concern was it is a bit noisy. Trains and locomotive horns, road noise and cars in and out of the adjacent parking lot are the culprits.
The cost is a donation to the city of Hereford. $8 to $16 seems appropriate for the amenities available and is comparable in price to BLM and National Park Campground with similar amenities.
We would stay here again as an overnight stop but wouldn’t consider this as a destination

I checked that we would stay here again, but that is only because for a free overnight or two, it does the trick. There were 5-6 spaces, the utilities worked well, the lot was pretty level gravel. There is a dip in the road at the entrance; longer rigs will want to take it at an angle to avoid scraping. The days were nice. The park... more

The days were nice. The park is pretty with a good sidewalk all around the small lakes and several picnic shelters. It is within walking distance of stores, and the city pool is next door (we did not use it.) There is OATV and decent cell reception.
The nights are bad. Traffic is noisy. Train whistles are constant. People pull in to eat their fast-food meals and throw the garbage out their windows despite the dumpsters being right there. The feral cats enjoy that. The lights in the lot are VERY bright.

It is easily accessible from east or west - the entrance is on 14th, behind the aquatic centre. The driveway to get into the park has a few holes and is not leveled with street. There is a small pond in front and the aquatic centre nearby. Quiet enough at night, felt safe enough, and easy to get to/from Hwy 60. The town library has great wifi and is located a few minutes away. .
