This is a beautiful campground in the Heyburn State park area! There are two other campgrounds in this state park that are already closed. And even though this one says it closes a week after Labor Day, it’s still open! Planning to ask about that discrepancy at the visitor center. Such a gorgeous area, near the COEUR D’ALENE bike trail, beautiful hikes nearby, near the rivers/lakes. Such a golden time of year here right now. Went into the nearby town of St Marie’s today between raindrops. Cute town with a nice coffee drive through called Shift and Grind. Great lumbering history in the area and the pride in the history there is quite evident. My only surprise was the cost. Several reviews here said it was $20, definitely not for us!! We have a small teardrop and had electric and water and it was 33.62 a night. No sites seem to be $20. Attached is the photo of the fee schedule. Super clean bathrooms with showers.

Nice campground in the woods. Fairly private spots, nice trail along the water for wildlife viewing, camp showers were nice and clean. Electric and water hookups only for RVs. Tents welcome in your RV site or there is designated tent campsite loop which appeared a bit more private. If camping in an RV I suggest calling to make your reservation instead of reserving online. Online only gives a max length but each site has its own challenges. The site we reserved was 18, we have a 24ft trailer, even with two others to help there was no way we could get it in there. Luckily the campground staff was accommodating and provided us another space that we could fit in.

Check in was good, with clear expectations. Site had water, electric, somewhat level area for motor home, and shade in the afternoon. Close to the clean showers. Area had fantastic bike trails with awesome views. Best access to campground is from the east, east of Plummer.

TIP: Don't follow google directions in -- go to Plummer and take the straight shot. Taking an RV down the skinny road next to the lake is scary.

We stayed here for 2 nights at some discounted amount, though we never were sure why it was so inexpensive...The sites are very wooded with nice tall trees. Site number 15 was a pull through with electric AND water! However it was no where near level and had a couple tight trees but we managed. Most other sights looked more level than this one but were back ins. I would not recommend site 11 as it was right next to the transformer box which hummed quite loudly. The showers/restrooms were very tidy. Cell service was mostly non-existant at our site, but worked well at a certain spot in front of the bathrooms....There seemed to be wifi at the visitor center, but it required a password and we never did get in to inquire about that. There was a lot of road noise in the park from the highway. The Coeur d'Alene paved bike path is just a short distance from the campground in the park. It was a beautiful ride, especially for an old rail track, which can be a bit tunnel-like. Overall, it was a great park.
