“Beautiful remote campsite with a lake and boat ramp”

Overall Rating

This campsite is nestled in a beautiful forest about 30 miles from highway 299. This is a PG&E campsite with 10 sites so it is small but the sites are paved and most are level and long enough for my 24ft trailer. The lake is a gorgeous turquoise color and the trout fishing was good. There is a boat ramp right next to the campground but most boats were smaller fishing boats. We were there the first day it opened for the season which was April 8th at 2PM. Sites all have fire rings, tables and nice flat areas for tents. When we were there there were only a few other campers so we had the place to ourselves. Because this site is so remote it was very quite but it was windy the days that we were there.

The road to Big Bend is about 15 miles of winding road but it is well maintained. After Big Bend it is another 15 miles on a very pot holed road which takes at least 30-45 minutes to travel. This part of the road is not enjoyable but doable. There are pit toilets but they were clean and trash receptacles were dispersed around the campground. No water or electricity at the campground so fill up before you come. Because this is so remote there was NO cell reception.
