A very nice change after a packed campground in Seward.
Easy drive to Homer and great walks on the beach and sand bars at low tide. No water or dump station. $20 a night.
There’s a dump station in Homer with water for $15 and we’ve been told you can dump free at the Chevron in Homer.
Att coverage was fine. T-Mobile had roaming signal on local GCI carrier, but they’re throttling our data speeds after 2 months in AK.

We came for the eagles. This was our farthest West stay on our summer in Alaska. The campground is at the end of the road. Our campsite had a grassy tent/fire pit area, a fireweed meadow on one side and spruce trees on the other. There was walkable access to the beach and the halibut fishing launch area. We were treated to our most beautiful sunset of the summer. Everything was perfect until rapid gunfire rang out within a couple hundred feet shattering our serenity and chased away the eagle (not once but two different times). Would have liked to stay for another night, but didn’t want to go through this again. Too bad.
The very best sites are walk-in sites reserved for tents right on the bay.

Nice spot not so far from Homer. Super quiet and clean. Nice beach just next to campground. Can see many Golden and Bald Eagles!

This campground is no longer big rig friendly - meaning over 35 Ft. Only a couple of sites can be used.
Area has NOT been improved. Do not believed in the Satellite photos, as they are out of date.

Last stops on the Kenai Peninsula. As we depart the Kenai, it seemed appropriate to show a few pictures that reflect Alaskan culture: birds, bears and fish. We diverted from the main “highway” onto...
