We had no idea what the Gulf Shores were like coming into this stay. Now, we are hooked! This is like one of the best kept secrets of the Gulf. The campground is huge. A little busy if your site is on the main road. Sites are nice. We got lucky and got a site due to a cancellation. There is plenty to see, wish we would have had more ti... more

We only spent one night here but will be back. We had a pull through site right on the gator pond :). It was very private, level and had a nice area with a picnic table to sit and look for gators. The park has tennis courts, a pool, bike paths, walking paths, WiFi and so much more! I wish we could have stayed to explore. The negative ... more

This is a nice park. A LOT of money has been spent on this park, in some areas. The campground bathrooms should be next on their list. They were clean, but could use with updating and replacing falling off tile in showers and power washing of tile. New loo seats would be nice too! Pressure and hot water were good. One of the nicest campgrounds going ... public or private. Sites are huge. 3,000 foot white sand beach on the Gulf. Wonderful bike and walking trails in the Park. Staff is very nice, very accommodating ... just good folks. Maintenance of the Park is very good. Gulf Shores, adjacent to the Park has good restaurants and grocery stores. S... more

Stayed in April 2018 during what we learned was also a school break. Appeared to be no vacancies! Lots of families with big rigs, bikes and kids. No issues with noise or loud parties. Very quiet after sunset. Most sites FHU. Asphalt/concrete pads, easy access and although you are close to your neighbor the sites are not lined up like ... more

“Great State park at the Beach”

Reviewed May 08, 2018

Lots of very nice bicycle paths through the park. Can ride bikes or a longish walk to beach from most campsites. Good parking and great pavilion with concession style food and even daiquiris on the beach. Bath houses were very clean and large. Full hookups at all the sites makes for a very nice stay! We stayed here for 3 nights over Thanksgiving and we didn't want to leave. While I wouldn't give the actual campground a 5/5, the amenities here are what makes this park shine. First, the negatives... -The campsites are nothing special. Many have little to no privacy and the sites are relatively close together. About 1/3 of the ... more

Wasn't bad, but over rated. We only stayed here one night. It was a huge camp ground, not really that close to the beach, still had to drive, unless you wan't to walk a couple of miles in the heat. There isn't much else in the area, just high rise condos on the beach and crapy chain resturants. The pool was closed and the dog park was ... more
