Very peaceful setting deep in a redwood old growth forrest with short walk to the Pacific! Small road noise during the day but absolutely fabulous at night!
Oh, sure the phone coverage sucks . . . BTW . . . great free WiFi !

I have a 24’ TT and that is the largest I would consider for this campground. Most sites are too small for this trailer and getting it into the bigger sites is difficult. You need to unhook to fit in the site and will likely have to park your tow vehicle away from the site in overflow parking. They charge $2 a day for dogs. Bat... more

Bathrooms and shower are very clean and the campground it kept clean.
This is a very small campground with access trails to the Gualala River in a nice redwood forest and another trail that goes to the beach.
There is no cell service at the campground but there is free wifi that worked pretty well at all sites.

We stayed 3 nights in site #5 February 22-25, 2021. Very clean restrooms and pay showers ($2 for 5 minutes), exact quarter change required. Nice ferns under giant redwoods hike to the north of campground out of site #1 and great hike to the south to the ocean on the Gualala Point Bluff Hiking trail out of the camp. Sonoma County Park Ranger comes thru and makes sure everyone has paid all fees in Iron Ranger (Pay Station at Entry Area to Camp). Be prepared to pay extra fees for each dog $2 per dog per night, extra vehicle fee is $7 per extra vehicle, per night that is not towed in with your RV. Very quiet and other campers were respectful with no generator usage. There is no cell phone coverage down in the campground. Nice that they have a RV dump near the campground. We would stay again maybe in the summer months when the shade trees would come in handy. I really am curious of what kind of trees are on the south end of the campground where the $5 hiker/bike-in camping spots are....if anyone knows please let me know. Thanks.

We stay here regularly. Just south of the town of Gualala on Hwy 1 in Mendocino county. Beautiful wild beaches (not for swimming), great access on the river for kayaking and such. A one mile trail leads from the campground in the redwoods to the beach on the other side of the highway. Some highway noise, and no cell service are the only cons. The beach and town have cell service, so it's not all lost.
