Although not most campers idea of a wilderness campground it’s a very peaceful location with enough space for privacy and a good jumping off point for the parks in the area. Plenty of amenities.
The only caveat I would mention is the tent only sites. They are basically a series of parking spaces in a row with no privacy and no shade. Spring for the partial hookup sites.

We did have service with AT&T but did not notice how many bars.

We biked three block to get a burger and shake at the Chow Hound😂 and enjoyed an evening here. Bathrooms are clean too.

Some sites are pull through but our back-in site was no problem There is no laundry or store, but the store in town is excellent more like a general store with groceries. Be sure to try the taco truck in town it was great. We had site number 27 which is on the corner facing the river bridge and feels like you do not have neighbors on either side of you. The campgrounds were very quiet even when full.

Rest rooms were clean and the park itself was nice. Just not my cup of tea.
Site 14 was a little short. Barely fit my 21’ forest river micro lite and my 1/2 ton truck. They had larger pull throughs so be careful based on your length.
Ranger/host gentlemen was super nice.

The hosts were great! They helped me with a couple of issues and were good to give me general advice. The showers on Sunday night were awful probably due to all the people there over the weekend. By Tuesday they appeared to have been cleaned and were better. There’s not much space to put your stuff to keep it dry when you shower and there’s no mirror or toilet; they are in a separate room. There are no septics at the sites, but there is a dump station conveniently located in the park. It’s a small park with not much there other than the golf course, which looked nice. There’s not much in Green River. I had to go to Moab to find a Dollar General to pick up some supplies. There’s easy access from I-70. A train runs right by the campground but is not a terrible nuisance. The only reason I say I wouldn’t stay there again is because it’s quite a drive (hour to hour and half) to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, which is why I was there. I would have stayed closer to Moab, but it was Jeep Safari week and it was a zoo down there (always the week before Easter).

We missed out getting a spot in our hoped-for Moab-centric RV Park, but now we’re set on using Green River State Park as our go-to from now on!
We called down around 9am from our motel in Sandy, and were informed that they had plenty of spots available. You can reserve them online, but it has to be two days ahead of time. We rolled in around 1 pm, and got to choose our site (most are great spots; we selected to back into #13, given the proximity to the showers).
There’s a sense of community, but also plenty of space between spots, even when full up. There are three bathrooms and showers; the showers are hot, great pressure, and roomy and private. The camp hosts are helpful and fun, and they have a lot of pride in keeping the place beautiful. It’s a lovely spot of green in a whole lotta desert, in easy access to Moab, and with great local food. (The pizza place will even deliver to the campsite!)

This was the first time we stayed at Green River State Park as RVers, but a few years ago we got a site to use with our tent. Both the tent camping and the RV stays were excellent.
It's obvious that those who tend the place love the place as they were very friendly and helpful. Our original plan had been to stay on night here and one night at Goblin Valley State Park, but when the weather forecast included triple digit daytime temps, we knew we needed electrical hookups at a minimum. We're glad we changed.
The site is a parallel-park "pull-through at the southern end of the park but we were plenty far off the road. We required a few leveling blocks on the curb-side but not bad. We have a full-sized, full-bed truck, and the site wasn't quite long enough to keep the truck hooked to the rig, a 2009 FR Wildcat 5th wheel. Our overall size is ~55 feet.
The pedestal tested fine, and despite the evident high demand, supplied excellent voltage. The water hydrant was in perfect order (although we didn't use the water, just the electric.) In another review someone posted here, the reviewer stated that ALL sites are full hook ups, but this is NOT the case; some had sewer, most did not. We used the dump station which obviously had been damaged in the past but was adequately repaired and was in very good, clean shape. It was easy to pull in and out of.
Nearly every RV site had shade, most did, some did not. It looked like the tent-only sites did not have any shade but we didn't pay that much attention to those. Our site had shade until about 2:30 or 3:00 and was full sun until about 7pm.
According to the park's Facebook account, the bathhouse we used is relatively new. It was in excellent shape, clean, roomy and bright, with plenty of hot water. The dry area bench is somewhat close to the large showering area, so if you bring dry clothes to change into, be sure to cover them with a towel or something to prevent splash-over. More hooks would be great.
Despite the small size of the park, it has TWO park hosts which goes far in keeping the park looking so good. The grounds were mowed, free of trash, and peaceful, unless you don't like trains. The main UPRR line is nearby and occasionally you can hear the trains go by. We like trains and did not find it bothersome, but perhaps you will not like it.
The town of Green River has seen better days, evidently, but three things recommend it: Melon Vine Market, Ray's Tavern (really, it's a restaurant), and the John Wesley Powell Museum & Visitor Center. Yes, the Melon Vine is a little more costly than, say, City Market in Grand Junction, so bring your food. However, the Melon Vine is an excellent store with a good selection, plenty of fresh produce and a nice bakery. We had burgers at Ray's and found the food plentiful and tasty. They have room to accommodate large groups, and it was evident that they were about to just as we were leaving. Probably a rafting group coming off the Green. We didn't visit the Powell Museum this time, but we had previously really enjoyed it.
I've read reviews that said the sign for locating the park was small and hard to spot, but we had no problems whatsoever. Perhaps you will have an issue. Perhaps you won't. Look at Google maps satellite view if you think you might.
Green River is 45-55 minutes from both Arches NP/Moab and Goblin Valley State Park. We recommend both of those. Goblin Valley is best at sunrise and sunset for the best lighting and appreciation of the "goblins".
Lastly, there are at least TWO fuel stations that can accommodate RVs. The one at the west end of town is an actual truck stop. It was pretty busy. Diesel was not cheap, but since you're 50 miles from the next services, ya takes what ya kin git! :-)
