The RV spaces are paved back in spots on the edge of a large beautiful park with a pond in the middle. For the 3 nights we stayed, we were the only ones there. This was a short stopover for us on our way to Magnolia Beach. The $20 fee has to be paid at the city hall @ 5-10 minutes away in the downtown area or there was a sign saying the local sheriff would pick it up at the park if you called. My only gripe would be that the water, electric and sewer are located behind where the trailer was parked making it harder to hookup(sewer and water needed extensions). They also have a dump station if that's preferred. We visited the Spoetzel Brewery while there, for some free samples in their tasting room and drove into Hallettsville for dinner at El Vaquero on a recommendation from the woman that checked us in at city hall.

Use a regular map, Google took us on a small country road that was unnecessary. Access is good from the town road. I would have given a 5 star for noise but a local rooster started waking us at 3:45. That's still better than the highway noise we've listening to at other places.

A few walking paths around the park offer the chance to stretch your legs. The sites are set up on blacktop pads- 2 sites per pad. If you had to share a pad with another RV it would be very cozy. With that said we have stayed here twice and there were never more than 2 other campers there so we had plenty of room. Camping fees are paid at City Hall (a five minute drive away). $20 per night cash - they charge a 3-1/2% surcharge for credit cards. Be sure to visit the Shiner Brewery while here. Take the tour and visit the tasting room - 4 free tastes (and doing the tour isn't required). The staff are all very friendly and there's always good conversations happening in the tasting room. Also be sure to visit Howard's (a convenience store that has Shiner beers on tap). Grab a beer and hang out with the friendly locals. Another quirky and fun place to check out is Antiques, Art & Beer. This is a gift shop where locals gather in the back to play dominoes and there are over 300 beers to choose from along with a variety of wines by the glass or bottle. Have a drink and do some shopping!

Green-Dickson Municipal Park is a 148-acre city park with ten spaces for overnight camping (RV's only) with 30 amp hookups and water at each site, and a dump station. Each site has a picnic table under a little roof with a grill. The sites are clumped in groups of two that share a big gravel parking area but with separate hookups. If there were two RV's side by side on the pad it might get a little crowded, but if you can snag one to yourself there's tons of room. They looked to be at least 50 feet deep, so very big-rig friendly.
There's no office on-site, but there's a sign instructing you to call the City Hall or Police Department for instructions on how to pay. They sent a police officer out to our site to collect the $20, or you can go into town and pay at City Hall if they're open. The park gates are supposedly closed from midnight to 6 am. We didn't go in or out at night, so I can't confirm this - I'm not sure what you'd even find that's open after midnight around here!
The park is very clean and well-lit at night, and besides the RV area it has playgrounds, walking trails, picnic areas with grills, lighted tennis and volleyball courts, fishing, and a baseball/softball complex. The park is huge, considering the size of the town, and the RV sites are on the top of a hill overlooking the entire park. Next door is the town's high school, so there is some noise from traffic going in and out for events at the school, but it wasn't bad on a weekday when we got there, and stopped entirely by early evening. We were the only RV parked here, which was fantastic after being in crowded RV parks around Texas and Florida.
Shiner Brewery is the main draw of this area, and is only a couple miles away with free tours of the brewery and free samples of their beer. They're very generous with their samples, too - four 7 oz pours - so it's well worth the tasting. They do two tours a day that vary seasonally, so check times.
To get into the park (because we had some issues finding it after Google mapped us to the baseball fields instead), enter from the main gate off US 351 (south of the baseball fields), then wind your way back toward the rear of the park toward the big hill. You'll see a sign for a dump station and RV park, continue straight up the hill past them, then the dump station will be at the very end on your right and RV sites on both sides of you prior to that.
