This campground is eight outside Great Sand Dunes NP. It has clean showers and restrooms. There is no laundry facility. The campsites are squeezed closely together. It was very windy. I recommend the location of the park and a one night stay.

Called them a few days ago to back up our stay by 1 day due to a mechanical issue with our van that put us behind. No problem. Site 13 was perfectly level. Didn’t need the restaurant, but I took a peek at the dessert display and it looked pretty awesome.

We checked in around 3pm before going to the national park. They only had tent sites available which worked out better for us because we didn’t need hookups. The tent sites had amazing views of the valley and the sand dunes! The roads to the tent sites were pretty rough and it was difficult to find a site that was level. There was a level site we found but it had 3 tombstones on it so we decided to pass on that site… We found another that was pretty level and had an amazing view! We were between the tent restrooms and the RV restrooms. The tent restrooms were in an old converted train car up the hill. They were very clean. The RV bathroom was a bit of a walk from the tent sites but we made the trek to use the showers. My 3 year old loved the playground that was by the RV sites and she played until the sun set. Then we made the trek back up to the tent area and had a peaceful night sleep.

I recently stayed at the Great Sand Dunes Oasis RV Campground and overall had a positive experience. One of the standout features was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. It's always a relief to find well-maintained facilities while camping.
I also appreciated the convenience of easily renting sandboards on our way to National Park. Another highlight was the availability of hot pizzas. It was nice to have a food option right at the campground, and the pizzas were delicious. They made for a convenient and satisfying meal.
However, one area that could use improvement is the campsite grading. It was challenging to level the RV in our assigned spot and required additional blocks. Some grading work would greatly enhance the camping experience and make it easier for campers to set up their vehicles.
In terms of connectivity, the AT&T network had spotty reception with frequent call drops, accounting for over 90% of our calls. However, the data connection worked fine. On a positive note, there were no obstructions for Starlink, providing reliable internet access.
Despite the issue with campsite grading and the spotty AT&T network, my overall experience at the RV Campground was positive. The clean bathrooms, great views, easy rentals of sandboards, and tasty pizzas contributed to an enjoyable stay.

Very close to Great Sand Dunes NP. Nice views from the sites. The food was really good at the restaurant- especially the banana cream pie. Wish the sites were concrete - less dust but overall highly recommend and will return to stay when in the area.

This campground is basically a large gravel and crushed stone parking area with sites along one edge. Each site is edged with a timber fence and has full hookups, a picnic table, and grille. Sites are small but adequate. Each one has a tree to the rear of the site. The interior roads are gravel and crushed stone and wide enough to navigate in any size rig. There is a playground for the kids. Management is nice, checkin was efficient, the park and buildings are well maintained, and there is a great view of the dunes and mountains. It’s only about 5 minutes to the entry to the national park. There is a convenience store and restaurant on site. There are no other grocery stores or restaurants nearby, so stock up before you come. Our only complaint is that the wind seemed to be constant during our stay, which kicked up a lot of dust from the gravel lot and roads. The experience could have been improved if the lot and roads were watered and/or treated to reduce the dust. Still, if we were to return to Great Sand Dunes NP, we’d stay here for the convenience of it’s proximity to the NP.

Able to find a tent spot with the perfect view of the sand dunes! Showers and bathrooms were clean. Only bad thing is the drive up is extremely rough/rocky and the sites can be a bit steep to drive up onto.

Oasis restaurant is good for to-go food. The rent boards for sandboarding. Waterfall hike a few miles away. Altitude is over 8,000 so there is a steep road coming from the east to get to the park.

When we first drove up I was a bit apprehensive as it is a dusty treeless property with a gravelly rutted road leading uphill to the campsites. Of all the places we visited this summer, this place was the most strict about masking & social distancing (probably a good point). HOWEVER- we quickly found out the staff behind the plexiglass is very friendly & efficient! I don’t know how we got so lucky but we were given the best RV site they have- on the northwest end with a totally unobstructed & breath-taking view of the Dunes! Truly amazing. I don’t think all the sites have such a view. And if you are so fortunate to be there on a clear night with a new moon- oh my THE STARS!!!!!! Unbelievable! The restrooms/ showers are clean & nice. You can buy breakfast down in the office/ store area but we enjoyed ice cream after a long day in the dunes & mountain hiking trails. The only reason this gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because the RV sites are extremely close together & you could hear and see everything going on at the other campsites. But the proximity to the Great Sand Dunes makes it worth any imperfection of this campground.
