First time to Great Plains State Park...very nice and less than five campers on a mid-week stay during a warm patch in February 2024. Nice level spots, water and electric worked fine, and a new sidewalk trail by the lakeside was welcome. Public facilities were clean, and the staff was great helping us switch sites. We did not travel away from the Lower Mountain Shade campground, as we nearly had that place all to ourselves. A pleasant off-season discovery!

We usually stay at Otter Creek. This area has level pads with water and 30 amp electric. Every time we’ve been here it’s quiet and never had a problem. The scenery is really nice and the lake isn’t super dirty like a lot of Oklahoma lakes.

Love this park! The sites are either gravel or concrete, but all are very level! Nice sidewalk path along the lakeshore for an evening stroll.

Stayed in Upper Shade Mountain Loop. 50amp & sewer. Well placed utilities and level gravel pad. Great views of lake. Amazing quiet during the fall! Super relaxing. Picnic tables. Lantern poles and both fire pit and grill. Definitely would stay again. Super friendly staff.

Just spent one night on the road here. Uncrowded in the Lower Mountain loop where we were, more folks in loop above. Water looked appealing from a distance but not up close due to loads of goose poop. Lots of fishermen. Water looked appealing from a distance but not up close due to loads of goose poop. Lots of fishermen. The sites were extremely clean. The park is well maintained and beautiful. Lots of access to water activities. We stayed in the Lower Mountain Shade area and were just steps from a beautiful concrete sidewalk trail, beach, and children’s play structure. We visited in late August so it was a bit hot to go on the hiking trails with young children, but the trees throughout the sites really made for enjoyable time outdoors even when it neared 100 degrees. Almost all of the campsites were booked, but it didn’t feel crowded! Camp hosts were very nice. Dump station and bathrooms/showers were also very clean. We will be back again and again!

The camp hosts were super nice and helpful and did all they could to fix it. We experienced low voltage issues which had our AC cutting off and on. I believe they will be upgrading their electric boxes in the next month or so in which case I would update to five stars.

This was a very clean and well maintained park. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The Lower Mountain sites are 30 amp and no sewer. Some of the the Upper Mountain sites have 50 amp and sewer connections.
