We are new to rving and Grayland Beach State Park came highly recommended, so for our maiden voyage this was our first stop. As a newbie, I am new to planning rv camping sites, I booked this online based on some reviews I read. This particular site was the only one available at the time with more than 3 nights. The park is great, this site was nice but too shady for this time of year, in the summer when the weather is warmer it would be great. The beach is close by but about a 1/4 mile or so away from the campgrounds, you either have to hike through marshlands or walk over to the road, or you can drive down to the beach (even park on the beach.) It's well maintained, easy to maneuver around (especially for a newbie), nice size sites and not too close to each other, offering some privacy.

Great park, and therefore hard to get in during warm weather. 9 month advance rez allowed, and pretty much needed in summer. We were there the weekend prior to Christmas, and while the website showed about 10-20% remaining capacity, it seemed like much more. Bad weather fcst likely caused cancellations. We had high wind one night (25 gusting to 40) and rain all but one afternoon, but it was quiet and peaceful otherwise, and even forced us to read these weird things called books. Park staff very friendly and informative. This is BY FAR one of the cleanest and best kept parks we've experienced. Large sites with excellent separation and privacy at most sites. Most are back in, but easy to maneuver and most sites are 60-70' long and 20 wide. 30/50a and water only at sites, but an easy to use Dump Station for any size rig. Very popular for clamming in season, however that's cancelled till at least year end due to high toxin level. Normal surf line is about 1/2 mile walk, but less than fun without boots during wet season. Otherwise a mostly level walk from the sites, but there are no ocean views from within this park. Some park roads and sites can flood during King Tides, but this is well advertised. With the weather we had you can still hear the surf as if you were 50 feet away. Cell service very weak and intermittent, and no Wi-Fi. We're looking forward to returning ASAP.

The campground has plenty of privacy between almost all sites, and the white noise of the surf makes relaxing an easy thing. Beach is about .5 miles away via trail, with easy vehicle access from several points as well. The beach itself can get somewhat busy on razor clam dig weekends, but there's lots of room to spread out, especially if you drive south (it's drivable for several miles).
If you go, be sure to take a drive into Westport to visit Bennett's Fish Shack. Very tasty fish and chips, great chowder, and a nicely done Prime Rib sandwich highlight their menu. Also, check out the views from the tower, especially during king tides/offshore storms. The power of the ocean is something majestic to watch!

Meticulously maintained state park with very private sites. Easy walk to the beach to let your dog run free with no overcrowding. Close to Westport for supplies and dining options. Excellent go to campground.

Beach access is also a short drive out of the campground and is not as busy some others. The site was W/E so we had to dump on the way out, it was cleanand well maintained too. My only complaint was scotch broom, it was in full bloom when we were there and everywhere! We will be back!

The beach is easily accessed from the campground via one of the short walking paths through the dunes. The sun barely showed itself during our five-day stay but we enjoyed the beach and the campground nonetheless. While in the area, don't miss a visit to the nearby Gray's Harbor Lighthouse. It's the tallest in Washington and for five bucks you can climb to the top.
On the connectivity side. the Verizon signal here was blazing with no booster needed. We also picked up a few bars of strong AT&T with our jetpack, but zero signal on AT&T phones.

Bathrooms were ok given the crowds over the holiday and hookups are decent but only 30amps. Site was long enough for our 50 ft truck and trailer. Westport is the closest town about 8 miles away and has a market and a few restaurants. While not trendy and hip like Cannon Beach, still honest and fun if a bit sleepy and worn. Signs warn to lock up your coolers and stuff as they may get isolated petty theft incidents, not surprising as the surrounding neighborhood is a bit downtrodden. Just be sensible and all is well.

Our site had an interesting little pond just beyond the site pad, but given the unseasonably rainy weather we've had, it was pretty understandable. The picnic table/graveled site was high and dry, so all was good. The site is surrounded by pine trees so we weren't able to fully extend our awning, but I'm betting it would be a very nice protected spot during the summer. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained, the same for the showers too.
