“Small island with electric and non-electric camping areas, trail loops entire island”

Reviewed 9/23/2021

Nightly rate: $27
Days stayed: 2
Site Number: 109
Overall Rating

I camped in the non-electric section. My site was reasonably level, with lots of grass and quite spacious and private surrounded by trees. Water views in the non electric area are limited due to the trees but you are still exposed enough for good solar. Some sites are double sites meaning you will be camped right next to your neighbour which is great if you are traveling with a friend but otherwise not so much.

Electric camping area is more open with better water views but less privacy from your neighbours.

There is one shower/toilet building located between the two sections near the main entrance building. Rustic inside and could have been cleaner but showers are free and water was warm.

Access to each campground loop is via a lift bar gate for which you need a passcard for reentry. The passcard requires a $5 deposit and then you have to stop by the office to return it at the end of your stay and get your deposit back. However, they can just open the gate for you if you ask when you arrive - which would be easier if you are only going out once or twice.

Good internet speeds on this little island for my AT&T plan roaming on Rogers.

There is a trail that winds around the island from which you only get water views in some sections. The best water views are in the day use area which you can walk to easily.

Dump station is located on the way out where you can also fill water, plus there is garbage and recycling available.

Large Level gravel site with electric and water. The sites with utilities less private. Picnic tables and fire pits ( sites1-32) great location for Peggy’s Cove, Halifax and Lunenburg .
