This is one of the most beautiful campgrounds I have ever stayed at. I cannot add anything to the facts given in the previous review. The road is unpaved but mostly level, just narrow in places; fine for a class B or C, but not class As or fifth wheels. It really is best as a jumping-off point for the world-class hiking trails at the end if the road, and presumably for fishing. I saw a fish that was at least 18 in long in the river this morning. Restaurants, gas, and basic supplies are all within 20 miles at the junction with 101.

“A place to stay before a backpack trip. ”

After dropping backpackers off, I did a drive through this campground.
The road there was in amazing shape as of 7/7/2020. After leaving Highway 101, it is 7 miles of paved road and then 11 miles of gravel/dirt road that is a little wider than a one lane road and follows the river. As you enter the National Park the road narrows further with occasional places to pull over for an oncoming vehicle.
There are signs saying the road is not suitable for RV’s. I’d agree. There are some narrow areas and 2 small bridge creek crossings that are very narrow. Going up we did not encounter another vehicle, coming back I did. There were 20 cars at the trailhead, so it is well traveled.
It’s an older campground with tables, fire pits and pit toilets. Some sites are very small, some sites are on the river. In July, midweek there were 7 sites occupied by tenters.
The camping rate was $20, which I think was overpriced for what you get and the time it takes to get here. If the dirt road was in bad shape, I don’t think it would be worth it for sure. I would consider camping here though if you were going to backpack out of this area on the Graves Creek Trail or The East Fork Quinault River Trail.
