Grant is a wonderful campground. Our site was very private even though it backed up to the road into the campground. The pull through was tight enough that we actually had to back out to avoid a tree but that was our only issue. There were water spigots nearby and dumpsters evenly spaced. It was well treed so lots of shade during a hot summer stay (tough on the solar panels though). Elk walked right through our site. This was a great spot to bike around and go down to the water. The only issue with Grant is the location isn't quite as convenient to get to sites (other than Old Faithful) but all in all a great stay and we would stay here again. Zero cell service so enjoy the quiet and lack of screens!

The campground is well-designed with loops that are easy to navigate. Yes, they pack quite a few campsites in here but they are not unreasonably close together. There are plenty of trees in the campground which helps. Our neighbors were quiet at night, which made for a good experience. Facilities are aging but in good condition. Flush toilets.
They did mess up our reservation by putting another party into the same campsite but we worked it out.

Great spot with a dump station, water, restroom. Super close to Old Faithful so you can get there nice and early before the crowds come in since Yellowstone is HUGE.
I don’t know HOW this campsite has minimal bugs but it does!
It does feel a little crowded at times but wasn’t a huge problem.
I do sleep camper van and my site was a bit unleveled but if you’re camping then that shouldn’t be a problem

We had a pull through with everything on the drivers side of the rig. Some folks tried u-turns and even drive down the one way streets the wrong way to get their rigs situated so everything would be on the campside of the rig (watched a trailer broadside a pine tree attempting this also). Dump with fresh water nearby. Gas station and small convenience store also. Generator hours were 0800-2200 for national park service approved generators.

We loved staying here, we lucked out on a longer back-in site that backed up to Yellowstone lake that was very private. This campground is not big rig friendly. We are just under 33ft and fit but I would not recommend anything larger. All sites are boondocking so there are no amenities. There is a dump station near the entrance and potable water fill up. There are also bathrooms and dishwashing stations. Showers were not currently open due to COVID but laundry was.
The campground has many trees so our rooftop solar only saw the sun for about 1hr a day. Luckily we have a portable panel to help a little. But I would recommend that you bring an inverter generator or solar generator if you need it. Generator hours are a strict 8am-8pm.
We did have phone coverage(Calls) but not internet. Our phones would say LTE but wouldn’t have any luck sending out texts unless our phones said 3G. While staying in the park we saw elk and coyote.
Our nightly rate was based off having an interagency access pass.

Unfortunately, the cons were a bit of a longer list. The sites are all packed together. Our site was supposed to fit two tents but that would be very difficult without spilling into someone else’s site. The tent sites weren’t level either. The shower facilities are closed due to COVID. They also charge $9 for a box of firewood.
While this wouldn’t be one I’m drawn back to, I would stay here if in the park again.

This was a packed national park campground that we would not stay at again. Considering we had just been boondocking with a few other people for two weeks, this was a huge shock to the system. We considered going to find a boondocking site outside of the park but didn't want to forfeit our reservation fees we had already paid. Yellowstone is so large that driving into the park wouldn't really have made a big difference from staying inside it.
There are huge loops with many sites per loop. You have no privacy and are surrounded by loud neighbors. The air was filled with smoke from the countless campfires that burned most of the night. Granted, we were there in peak season.
There are amenities that were nice, a dish washing station, gas station and general store, right down the street.
I wouldn't stay here again just because this is not my idea of rving.

The wife and I decided to take a last minute vacation to yellowstone. Called for a reservation the day before we were going to leave, grant was the only place she was able to get us, but for Sunday, Monday then Wednesday and Thursday, so we would have had to pack it up and leave for one day. When checking in I asked if there wss anyway I can get a spot for Tuesday night and with a few punches on the computer the manager said your all set up for 5 nights in the same site. Then he said that he will apply our second deposit we made towards the bill, we pulled our camper in and it was right next to the lake with a beautiful view, great service, clean campground, will stay there again🤗
