The mosquitoes were a little thick, but we had our repellent lanterns going in the morning and then again in the evening. There is a beautiful drive up in the mountains and along the alpine loop. The views are incredible. Next time we’ll make a reservation to hike up to Timpanogos Cave. Tibble Creek reservoir was busy every day even with it being mid week.

We camped in a 41’ motorhome and accessing the campground isn’t an issue. There are a handful of sites that will accommodate 40’ rigs. Be aware that the hosts may enforce the parking rules for extra vehicles.
Just below the campground is Tibble Fork reservoir. It’s a madhouse on summer weekends and many weeknights. But once you get above it, the crowds thin out. Occasionally the noise of ATVs can be heard in the campground from off-roaders riding down from Silver Lake.
As of July, 2020, there is no cell service near the campground on any of the carriers. The nearest cell service is at or below Timp Cave. Fiber optic cable has been laid and cell service expected to be available by fall of 2020.

We stayed at Granite Flat on May and really enjoyed our stay. The campground is tucked well into the trees and has multiple loops. The sites that we looked at all appeared to be in really good shape and had fairly good separation from the neighbors. We were with some family members and they stayed in site 8 and that is actually where we spent most of our time. It was a great site but did have a fairly large drop off in the fire pit area so if you have small kids it should probably be avoided. We stayed in site 9 which was a good site other than the fact that it is very close to a double site and our neighbors were not exactly quiet.
There are two lakes in very close proximity to the campground. Tibble Fork Reservoir ( you will pass on the way in) and the other is Silver Lake Flat Reservoir (accessible via a tight dirt road). Tibble is popular with the ATV crowd and at times you could hear them buzzing around. It wasn't bad but you could for sure hear them. As for Silver Lake Flat, there are several hiking trails on the North side of the lake. It was a fairly popular area (hiking and fishing) but I would not attempt to get there in an RV or pulling a trailer.
