Stayed June 2023 in 26’ TT, site 88. Typical dry camping state park with small sites, mostly heavily shaded. Older campground originally designed for tent camping. Stayed June 2023 in 26’ TT, site 88. Typical dry camping state park with small sites, mostly heavily shaded. Older campground originally designed for tent camping. Biggest complaint is overhanging tree limbs, the first get you is right at the checking station. There are very few site sites suitable for RV or TT, big rigs even more limitations and you will drag branches across the side and roof get into a site.
Check campground map closely, any outside loop sites on the road side will be subject to loud road noise. We were treated on our first night to LOUD motorcycles racing up and down the road for at least 2-3 hours, less the second night but continuous assorted vehicle traffic.
Friendly staff, great showers! Strange high / low shower heads terrific for back pain. Sign says max time for $1.25 is 12-1/2 minutes, ours ran for at least 20! Bring quarters.
Great camp for fisherman and kayakers, dock and small ramp on site.

Very pretty and quiet campground on the island of Grand Isle, VT. There are zero hookups, which is fine if the nights are cooler or you can deal with sweating all night. Very pretty and quiet campground on the island of Grand Isle, VT. There are zero hookups, which is fine if the nights are cooler or you can deal with sweating all night.
The shower house on our loop was very clean.
If in an RV, make sure you fill your water tank BEFORE you pass through the gate, it is marked "potable water" where the dump station is on the right side of the road before you get to the check in office. We were told by the person at check in that there were water spigots throughout the campground. This is true, but they do not have hose end fixtures. So you have to go all the back out to the dump station for water.
The sites marked PRIME are sites that are out in the open, in grassy sunny locations. It would be very hot in those sites! Most sites are private with trees and woods between each one. Some nicer than others, and non-prime sites were nice and shady with a dirt/sand base.
They rent bikes, sell small firewood bundles for $7 and bags of ice for $3. We bought large bundles of wood at a roadside stand for $5/bundle.
There are no bike "trails", you ride on the road, which is fine if you don't have little kids. The roads we rode on had no shoulder.
In summary, this is a nice, pleasant campground and beautiful area. We probably won't be back as it's a long way from home and out of the way for our road trips.

130 sites, some on the water, some sunny and some shady. Boat access, small beach with barbecues and tables, nature center, dump station. No water or electric sites, bathrooms ok but the showers in Vermont State Parks are strange - one shower head up high and the other at waist level with one water setting of warm. Narrow roads and some had sharp drop-offs/ditches on the edges.
Site 88 was in full sun, grassy, fire pit and table on the left. Easy access. Visibility to neighbors but wasn't an issue as there were only about 10 other campers there during our stay. During high season, I would choose site 100 as it is more private.

This is a fantastic state park - wonderful staff, fun nature center, cute little nature trail. The giant asterisk for us was the roads - trees encroach the sides and overhead. There are limited sites that our 30’ (12’9” tall) fifth wheel could fit and we lucked into one of them. Having said that, we borrowed a couple of saws and tried to make sure we could get out without damaging our trailer by cutting back several trees in a few areas. Staff knows but their pole saw was down for maintenance and it appears to be several years of deferred tree cutting efforts.
Access is easy on beautiful roads and the surrounding area and activities are fantastic.

This is a jewel of a campground. Easy to get to and close to Burlington and Plattsburgh (by ferry). Facilities and campground are clean and well maintained. When it comes to camping, this campground has a little bit of everything for everybody whether tenting, RVing, lean-tos and small cabins. Sites are, for the most part, nicely spaced so you don't feel like you're right on top of your neighbors or vice versa. In riding around the campground I didn't see any what I would consider really bad sites. Granted, some sites are larger than others, some have full shade, some partial shade and still others full sun. Since this campground has no hookups whatsoever, if you have solar panels you want to use, a full sun site might be just the ticket. I believe the website for making reservations gives a brief description of each site so pay attention if you have 'special' needs or have a large RV. The road leading to my site was fairly narrow and I imagine a large rig might brush up against some of the tree branches along the road. As for me, I'm towing a 16 foot Airstream and had no problems.
The park is right on Lake Champlain and I was able to do some fishing off the pier at the boat launch. If you have any type of boat this place would be perfect.
Water spigots are conveniently located throughout the park. Restrooms are clean and the pay showers are also nice. 50¢ will get you about 5 minutes which for me was just fine. Firewood is available for sale at the park and there are numerous places not far from the park that also sell firewood. There is a dump station just outside the main gate to the park. Not the best dump station I've experienced but it got the job done.
Overall, this was a very nice campground and one that I would gladly return to. The only downside from my perspective is there were no electric hookups. In hot weather (and it was hot when I was there) being able to run my A/C is always a plus.

We've camped here a couple of times in their lakeside lean-to. You'll need to reserve a lakeside site a year in advance since they go within minutes of being available during the holidays. We've camped here a couple of times in their lakeside lean-to. You'll need to reserve a lakeside site a year in advance since they go within minutes of being available during the holidays. Stony beach, playground, field, clean showers/heads, a couple of sites can handle the largest rigs though it maybe a little tight navigating but looks doable. I think the tightest spot will be at the front office to leave! Small towns and nice bike trails, Snow Farm Winery is within minutes and is easily our favorite winery in the area!

We enjoyed our time spent camping here. The sites were relatively private during the week when it’s not so busy. The camp employees were very helpful and the sites were well maintained and clean.
We stayed at two different sites. Site 23 was to the left of the ranger station and site 88 was to the right of it. We had better Verizon service in site 23 and not very good at site 88. We work online so it was difficult for us to get steady service, however there are places in town you can go to.
The closest place to do laundry is in Milton or the Burlington area, so expect to drive a good 30 minutes to a laundromat.
We would definitely stay again.

We loved this park. I guess none of the state parks in Vermont have hookups, including Grand Isle, but Grand Isle does have potable water and a dump station available for campers. We arrived via the ferry from Plattsburgh which was a fun experience. We would have stayed longer but the park was closing for the season. We didn't have reservations and this late in the season that wasn't an issue. Many of the camp sites do have access to Lake Champlain, but our side was on the west side of the park isolated from most of the campground.
We would definitely stay here again, the fall colors were fabulous. I posted a video to youtube about the ferry ride and it has some footage of the campsite and campground. https://youtu.be/8ZGuqKYdU5A

This is a beautiful state park right on Lake Champlain. The sites had a nice amount of privacy, and we lucked out because the attendant switched us to a site that was larger and easier to access when I told him we were novices with our trailer. They have a basketball court, volleyball court and two playgrounds. There is also a place to swim, although you will want water shoes. The bathrooms were clean. There is a dump and freshwater station at the entrance/exit area. No electrical hook ups. We were on our way to Canada, so this was a nice location in between Burlington and areas north.
